Random thought: Weir’s The Martian and Project Hail Mary would both make “good” 90s era Sierra On-Line adult edutainment point-and-clicks.
I say “good” in that those 90s era Sierra On-Line point and clicks while somewhat fondly remembered fell into the trap of bad and punitive puzzle design. You’d need to carefully figure out the science puzzles for point and click game adaptations.

Worst is the creation of a new layer of middlemen who look, broadly, just like most of the last middlemen who’re for extraction and pulling the ladder up.
