This youth-led organization in Pangasinan uses a bike as a tool to provide their neighbors with basic medical services.
The initiative started in their own community, but it is now being adopted in 22 barangays.
"Ang concept po kasi ni Go Bike is mag-train and mag-empower ng mga kabataan para maging community responders and maging first-aider po sa panahon po ng sakuna," President of Go Bike Project Meca Fernandez said.
"Nagbibigay po kami ng free healthcare services po sa mga senior citizen po natin, sa mga buntis, sa mga hindi po nakakalabas po ng bahay," Fernandez added.
Edren Llanillo launched the Go Bike initiative in 2019 in Barangay Umanday, Bugallon, Pangasinan.
Initially, they have 88 volunteers — comprising of youths and barangay health workers.
The youth volunteers undergo trainings conducted by the members of the Philippine Red Cross and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.
They usually conduct operations every weekend for the Ronda Kalusugan program.
But they are always on call in times of emergency.
With the growing numbers of volunteers, they started partnering with different Sangguniang Kabataan officials in the city.
All medical equipment and supplies were donated by generous individuals who support their organization.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they also launched their own pantry bike inspired by the first community pantry along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City.
With the ongoing success of the project, Fernandez said that it motivates the organization to continue providing service and inspiring others.
"Super happy lang talaga na maraming natutulungan, maraming na-i-inspire, maraming gustong magreplicate, maraming gustong maging member."
The organization hopes that the Go Bike project will urge more youth to engage in volunteerism.

“The experience was overall good. One, we don’t have to park and lock our bikes outside just to buy inside the shop,” uploader Henry Tuason Macasiano told The Philippine STAR.
"Two, the bike table amenity outside also allowed us to eat conveniently, again without having to leave our bikes. And lastly, the al fresco bike table is much safer these days. The guard/staff also disinfected the table after our use," he added.
