Birth control and headache medication. What kind of birth control can a woman be on while taking medication for headaches?
Being a woman, I thought it was important that I research on my own research on what birth control would be good for me #njcurj
I was put on a medication called Topiramate to help manage my headaches. Until research showed that medication caused hair loss. #njcurj
After I found this out I immediately went to my neurologist to switch medicines and have a new treatment plan #njcurj
I was also told it was not a good idea to be on birth control. But how can someone tell me what I can and can not do with my body. Through my research, I found that nonhormonal bc would be the best.
I also learned from my experience don’t just go by what one doctor has to say about any kind of health issue it is always good for a second option.
At first, I thought my doctor knew what was best for me and my body but how can a man tell me what’s best for my body
After doing my research, I found that non hormonal bc would be best for me. Which wouldn’t interfere with my migraine medication
There are tons of non hormonal birth control that I can use as options. All I can hear is “ being on birth wouldn’t be a option” but I know now that was wrong
I think because I seem quiet that the doctor didn’t think I would have questions but I had a lot and was certainly not going to let a man tell me what I couldn’t do with my body#njcurj
Before this assignment I was already researching this topic and realized another issue with what I was prescribed. This whole experience made me realize always check side effects to every medication
And it has to be up to me to research because I realized a doctor will not tell you everything that a medication may do/cause for you
Because if I don’t care enough to know what’s going into my body no one will @JenniferMusial
