- premier Kenney just noted "this is not an urban versus rural issue" Image
3/
linking @cspotweet's thread - as I've noted before, he's a great source for Alberta coverage, as a reporter with
@CityNewsYEG

4/
adding this - and noting (as I have before) that @CBCFletch is an excellent follow
6/
a Q from Global for Dr Hinshaw about no. of outbreaks being high in Day Cares. Dr says they're looking for patterns or trends that indicate add'l measures needed. Mentions variants.

- isn't AHS simply doing sample testing for variants? Wouldn't more testing for variants help?
8/
- all of this talk about urban v rural, would've been unnecessary if health officials, Health Min Shandro & premier Kenney, hadn't articulated a belief that Covid-19 was a regional prob, refusing to mandate province-wide measures, until pressured into it.
9/
another good follow, for Alberta politics and Covid-19 news is @CGriwkowsky

adding this tweet, from a tweet-thread reporting this Alberta Covid-19 update by @Adam_Toy
12/
- still airing (delayed start?) on CBCNN, but finished on CPAC
13/
adding this tweet by @KevinCTV - another good follow (IMHO)

"And when you think about drugs, Pierre Poilievre is the only one who understands the problem," Laryssa Waler.

I disagree. Mr Poilievre has revealed a complete lack of understanding the drug crisis in Canada.

For instance, please see this post by ER Doctor Eyolfson @DougEyolfson

For instance, note what @dmacpher has to say about Poilievre's lying about the fed govt's drug policy

It's not normal to accuse govt of starting wildfires; wish to fire BofC's gov; push Bitcoin; be anti-expert; be anti-WEF; let Leslyn Lewis stay in front bench despite assoc w/AfD, etc.; march w/James Topp; back anti-vax mandate bill; call PET & PMJT Marxists; use MGTOW tag, etc.

Kristin, you're being shown a clip out of context. If you'd watched QP today, you'd know that he was responding to CPC member's claims that Cdns would save $500 to $800 if the carbon tax was removed. To save that you'd need to drive 37,000 klms. You'd need to drive non-stop 24-7.

I really think people like Kirstin mean well and I blame those who are lying to her or manipulating her with clips shared out of context.

Rage-farming with disinformation and use of hyperbolic rhetoric and tug-at-your-heartstrings anecdotes. I'm waiting for Poilievre to accuse the (fed Liberal) govt of k*lling puppies next (has come close to doing that today in #QP).

"The federal Conservatives say they won't be taking advice from "so-called experts" when it comes to carbon pricing, after more than 200 economists signed an open letter challenging Pierre Poilievre's stance."

My thoughts, this is like when Harper showed a disdain for experts. Sounds like if CPC formed next govt, data will be destroyed, scientific and economic programs under-funded, decisions made at the top without consultation with experts. Is this what Millennials wish? Really?

For anyone who wasn't paying attn to #CdnPoli (or was not voting age then) during Harper years, here's a good article by Carol Linnitt, in May 2013 issue of Academic Matters, "Harper’s attack on science: No science, no evidence, no truth, no democracy" academicmatters.ca/harpers-attack…

Let's face it. There are voters out there who are selfish. They'd rather save a few cents on a litre of gas*, than support the current govt who are implementing the most effective policies for reducing carbon emissions. They don't care about climate crisis. *(8/10 get a rebate)
