Alberta Covid-19 update

- premier Kenney just noted "this is not an urban versus rural issue" Image
3/
linking @cspotweet's thread - as I've noted before, he's a great source for Alberta coverage, as a reporter with
@CityNewsYEG

adding this - and noting (as I have before) that @CBCFletch is an excellent follow
6/
a Q from Global for Dr Hinshaw about no. of outbreaks being high in Day Cares. Dr says they're looking for patterns or trends that indicate add'l measures needed. Mentions variants.

- isn't AHS simply doing sample testing for variants? Wouldn't more testing for variants help?
8/
- all of this talk about urban v rural, would've been unnecessary if health officials, Health Min Shandro & premier Kenney, hadn't articulated a belief that Covid-19 was a regional prob, refusing to mandate province-wide measures, until pressured into it.
9/
another good follow, for Alberta politics and Covid-19 news is @CGriwkowsky
11/
adding this tweet, from a tweet-thread reporting this Alberta Covid-19 update by @Adam_Toy
12/
- still airing (delayed start?) on CBCNN, but finished on CPAC
13/
adding this tweet by @KevinCTV - another good follow (IMHO)

Am I letting my partisanship colour the way PP sounds? To me, the way that Poilievre says (as though an aside) "for a change," after saying he puts "Canada first," sounds like when I complain to my husband "thanks for listening, for a change." It's passive aggressive.
2/
I mean, I don't quip "for a change" very often (we have a good marriage), but when I do (usually under my breath) it's when I'm feeling frustrated. It's the kind of thing someone says who is trying to pick a fight or keep one going.
3/
Trying to pick a fight within Canada, is the wrong stance right now. I much prefer Carney's "unity" message.

Poilievre is spending all his time being extremely negative, saying everything that he thinks is wrong with Mark Carney and Sean Fraser - using hyperbole and twisting the facts to create a (false) narrative. His negativity is so off-putting. #Election2025

I sure hope no-one falls for Poilievre's gross accusations and attempt to redirect the attn on him. Asked about the Globe and Mail's story, his answer is DISGUSTING - PP is trying to connect two DISPARATE things, Beijing murders and PMMC's former LEGIT business in China.

Chyrons on CBCNN: Carney's smaller cabinet will reflect his laser focus on the U.S. tariff threat and economy. Mark Carney will be mostly made up of ministers who have already been ministers in the past. Mark Carney expected to visit London and Paris next week, first trip as PM.

@gmacofglebe "People are worried about economy. When Cdns see that the govt is being run by a cabinet that's smaller and tighter, they going to like that," (paraphrased).
@gmacofglebe 3/
@CharelleEvelyn will be looking for whether there will be virtue signalling like what was known from Trudeau's picks (my summary, not quoting).

The member for Sarnia-Lambton, ON - Marilyn Gladu, a CPC MP, just admitted to why they're really filibustering parliament - the Cdn federal Conservatives are taking a page out of the US' GOP playbook and obstructing govt legislation.

The claim that docs haven't been provided to the RCMP by the Liberals, is not true. The RCMP have said they already have what they need for their investigation. Not only that, but it would be inappropriate for parliamentarians to direct the work of the independent RCMP.
*To clarify, it is a false claim being made by the CPC MP when she says that the Liberals didn't provide docs to the RCMP

Canadian voters, please think hard before you support the CPC. Take note that they think using M*usk's Starlink is the way to go. M*sk denied the use of Starlink by Ukraine, to help the Kremlin. Think about what decisions they'd make as cabinet ministers if CPC formed govt.
