nanami and yuuji were resting after a mission. both males were sitting on the couch. yuuji slumped a little while nanami had his legs crossed along with his arms crossed.

they were both silent, not wanting to talk after a long tiring mission. it wasn't until yuuji broke the silence by saying,

"nanami?"

the man yuuji called for glanced over at yuuji with furrowed eyebrows. it almost confused him when yuuji said his name the proper way. ever since they met, yuuji called him "nanamin" and no matter how many times he'd correct him, he would continue to call him that.

nanami learned to accept it and found it almost cute. it was a nickname for him after all. and only him.

it took nanami a few seconds to answer with,

"yes, yuuji? what's wrong?"

yuuji hesitated and nanami saw this. it made him even more concerned.

"I know who you pretend I am."

nanami eyes widen a bit.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

nanami knew exactly what he was talking about. how could yuuji know? was nanami too obvious? who told yuuji about his past?

yuuji looked down and sighed, shaking his head and looking visibly sad.

the two had a relationship that was more than mentor and student. they grew closer everyday so it hurt nanami to see the sunshine boy look sad.

but he couldn't blame yuuji for being sad. nanami was basically using him as a substitute. he saw the resemblance of the person they were both thinking of and couldn't help himself.

"I wish.. you didn't lie to me and pretend to not know what I'm talking. or more specifically who I'm talking about. I really thought your feelings were sincere. truthfully.. I just don't understand.. why not me? "

"yuuji I-"

before nanami was able to speak, gojo appeared.

"ooh yuuji!! I need you for some training- oh hello nanamin!!"

nanami glared at gojo for ruining the moment and chance for him to talk.

yuuji quickly stood up and walked over towards gojo.

"yuuji wait- we still need to talk."

yuuji looked over at nanami and said,

"I guess.. but later.."

before he was right out the door, leaving gojo and nanami in the room together.

gojo couldn't help but ask seriously,

"if everything okay between you and yuuji?"

nanami looked over at gojo and sighed, hesitating before saying,

"no, I don't think so."

nanami didn't want to lose yuuji. he didn't want to lose someone else again, especially the person who he thought resembled his first love.
