A recent opinion poll by @asahi showed that 83% of the 1,500 surveyed said the Games should be postponed or scrapped entirely.

The state of emergency declared in April covered Tokyo, Osaka, Hyogo,Kyoto, and the Aichi and Fukuoka prefectures. On Sunday, it was extended again to include the Hokkaido, Okayama, and Hiroshima prefectures.

It will remain in effect until May 31.
