Chirpy opened his eyes to a translucent light around him. He wanted to see and feel that light in all its fullness.
So he started pecking around the shell that seemed to be getting in the way of that light.
His feeble pecks caused a crack around the shell.
And with one big determined stretch, he managed to get break himself loose from the shell.
Much to his delight, he was greeted by the warm bright light, and a pair of smiles.
"Hi love, welcome to the world. You are Chirpy." Said they.
More happy faces chimed in, "hi Chirpy, we've been waiting anxiously for you, many many days now. Didn't think you'd make it."
And so it was that they nicknamed him 'The resilient one'
For many days chirpy lay in his nest - well fed and warm.
He was given special care for the was the baby of the nest. In return, he gave out the happiest chirps one could hope to hear.
But the nest got smaller as everyone got bigger.
Mama and papa decided they best empty it out.
Everyone was excited except Chirpy.
He didn't feel quite ready yet.
Nevertheless, one morning, mama gave a gentle tug to all her babies. Down they went one by one. Desperate midair flapping gave way to more confident gliding.
Mama and papa looked on with pride. They called on their brood..
"Let's nest on the old tree that stands on the other side of this big wide lake."
As they flew across the lake, Chirpy felt he couldn't keep up with the rest. He started lagging behind. He could see his family at a distance - one that seemed to be getting farther and farther.
With much effort, he managed to perch on a tree at one end of the big wide lake.
He felt cold and totally lost as he curled himself up in the corner of a branch.
Slowly, familiar faces and sounds were replaced by glistening sets of eyes and deep croaky sounds.
Realising that mamas wings weren't there to cover him, Chirpy covered himself with his own wings.
He felt a cold hard beak push him, then peck at him. He felt a flimsy feather being pulled out from him. The pain excruciating. Then another.
He screamed within his little being.
Who are they? What do they want from me? What have I done to them? Wheres my family? Help!
He felt more beaks tearing away at him. Sounds of ugly shrieks and mad squeals. He couldn't understand this sudden attack on him and the immense pain he felt. As he closed his eyes..
He thought to himself - this is my fault, I am weakling, I voluntarily flew into this situation, I can't even fend for myself. I probably deserve this.

Then one last time he thought about his family. The safety of their nest, the worms he relished and the bright warm light.
....a light now replaced by a darkness so grey and damp.
As the light grew bleaker, he thought he heard what was a familiar call. He strained his ears to hear beyond the noise of his predators. But within seconds, he felt himself being scooped up and taken high up into the sky.
His family had returned for him.
For many days, Chirpy stayed huddled under mamas wings. Papa doling out the biggest portion of the daily catch to him.
Knowing how Chirpy felt, a big tear drop fell from mamas eyes.
She said to him, "Chirpy, none of this is your fault...
"You fell victim to the bad decisions and evil actions of those around you. But now, you are a survivor, so be strong and soar as high up as you possibly can."
And so Chirpy the ever resilient one decided to do just that.
He grew stronger with each new day
And even though he had a few broken feathers here and there, he wore them with great pride - soaring high and spreading happy chirps everywhere, the warm bright light guiding him wherever he went.

Just one of my random "in the spur of the moment" stories. Hope you enjoyed it😬

Your personal experience doesn't justify your tagging every man a chauvinist/ pervert and every woman a golf digger or a bitter feminist.
A good man mostly just wants a little respect, some affection and unflinching support through thick and thin .
If you can't give him that, but you can nitpick on his every flaw, you act cold, aloof or make him feel small, you do not deserve him.
A good woman, no matter how independent, mostly just wants to feel protected, secure, and loved.
Now if you interpret that as she being too needy, weak and an opportunistic gold digger, you can shove yourself up your own passage. She'll do better alone or find some better.
