For thousands of years, Ethiopian Jews would quote the Jewish phrase, "next year in Jerusalem."

In 1991, following Operation Moses in 1984, this dream became a reality for the 14,300 Jews airlifted to #Israel during Operation Solomon.

This is their story:

Following civil unrest & political instability in Ethiopia, putting the Jewish community at risk, on May 24-25, 1991, Israel airlifted 14,300 Ethiopian Jews to Israel in a special mission titled #OperationSolomon.
📸@MoDIsrael
Israel chartered 35 aircrafts, including Israeli Air Force C-130s, in a clandestine mission to rescue 14,000+ Ethiopian Jews and safely bring them to Israel within 36 hours.

In order to rescue as many people as possible, the seats of the planes were removed. Image
At 5:00PM on May 25, the first plane landed in Tel Aviv making history as one of Israel's most complex and emotional missions since the country's founding. Image
30 years later, we remember this historic mission which brought our Ethiopian brothers & sisters to 🇮🇱, fulfilling the dream of their forefathers to return to their Jewish homeland.

🧵1/5 Let's talk about the phrase "Globalize the Intifada".

You might have heard it on college campuses recently, but it's not a call for justice.

It's a call for murdering Israelis and Jews.Image
2/5 Intifada refers to violent acts of "resistance" of Palestinians against Israelis including suicide bombings, shooting attacks and kidnappings resulting in thousands of civilian deaths and casualties.Image
3/5 These are some of the horrific images that come to mind when Israelis hear the word Intifada.

Left: A suicide bombing by a Palestinian on a bus near Haifa (2002) in which 8 Israelis were murdered and 22 injured.

Right: A suicide bombing by a Palestinian in a hotel during a Passover Seder in which 28 Israelis were murdered and 140 injured.Image

(Thread)

850,000.

That's the number of Jewish refugees from Arab countries & Iran who were forced to flee the countries they called home for hundreds (& even thousands of years).

They left behind homes, businesses, synagogues & belongings.

For over 2,500 years, Jews continuously lived in North Africa, the Middle East & Gulf region.

In the 1930s, Jews began to experience large waves of discrimination.

The situation for Jews became increasingly dangerous following the adoption of the UN Partition Plan in 1947.
Jews in Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Yemen & other countries were targeted in violent pogroms which continued in to the 50s & 60s.

(Thread) The devil works hard but Gaza's "film" industry works harder.

Meet Saleh Aljafarawi, Hamas presenter, father, patient, singer, journalist and crisis actor.

He's just one example of how Hamas is using social media to spread misinformation and shape false narratives related to Gaza.

On the left, you can see Saleh cheering on Hamas rockets fired at Israel.

On the right, you can see Saleh recently enjoying a delicious meal "fit for kings".
This “Hamas crisis actor” has become notorious for miraculously appearing in multiple Hamas propaganda videos in different roles and locations across the Gaza Strip.

Individuals across social media are calling Saleh “the man with more lives than a cat”. Image
Unfortunately, some journalists are still falling for Hamas crisis actors like Saleh.

Take for example the @BBC which recently aired footage from his account. Image

Breaking: The @IDF has released visual and audio materials which prove Hamas has stolen and is using humanitarian resources for its terrorist activities.

Let’s start with the Shifa Hospital, one of Gaza’s biggest medical centers, which is being used as a terror operations base by Hamas terrorists.

Listen to a phone call between two Gazans, confirming Hamas headquarters are located in the Shifa hospital.
This is an illustrative video which points out the different locations in and under Shifa hospital which are being used by Hamas terrorists to plan and implement terrorist activities.

You can also see the hospital’s generators which have been taken over by Hamas terrorists.
Hamas has also stolen fuel from the hospital which it is using to power its terror tunnels underground.

According to a senior Gazan energy official, Hamas currently has at least a million liters of gasoline, which it has stolen from civilian projects.

Thread: for those of you new to Hamas, a bloodthirsty and barbaric terrorist organization no different than ISIS, here’s what you need to know. Image
Hamas’ goal is not to create better lives for Palestinians.

Their goal is to murder every last Israeli and create an Islamic State. Image
Hamas has used every imaginable barbaric method to slaughter men, women, children, toddlers and babies. Image

🧵THREAD:

On June 1-June 2, 1941, 180 Iraqi Jews were murdered and 1,000 injured in a horrific pogrom (The Farhud).

The Farhud marked the beginning of the end for Iraq's 150,000 strong Jewish community which included @lindamnu and her family.

This is their story. Image
Linda Abdul Aziz Menuhin was born in 1950 to an affluent Jewish family in Baghdad, at a time when most Jews had already fled Iraq.

Jewish roots in Iran go back to 586 B.C.

Jews were an integral part of Iraq's tapestry & in the 1920s were 25% of Bagdad's population. Linda (center from left) and her family in Baghdad
In the early 1940's things started to shift.

In 1941, within the span of two days 900 Jewish homes and institutions were destroyed, 180 Jews killed and thousands injured.

But that was just the beginning. Image
