Seeing the tech bros dunking on Senator Blumenthal for the "finsta clip." First q I have is how many of you knew what a finsta was before today? Second, if you are dunking, did you actually watch the hearing?

I'm a teen. I also work in tech policy. Here's my translation for you.
Here Senator Blumenthal perfectly explains what "finstas" are (fake instas). He's seen documents from the FB whistleblower which indicates FB sees a business proposition in users creating second, private accounts sometimes without the knowledge of parents. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Finstas can be accounts that you create just for your friends, call the account something that's not your name, make it private, and essentially shit-post.

They can also be accounts set up that your parents don't follow so they don't know about. Also meaning underage users do it

Spoke to a few teens w mental health challenges ahead of today's hearing who use Instagram. They dismissed the idea that Instagram helped them through any of it but said they went to it as a temporary distraction.
I would like to hear the accounts of teens who say Instagram was *beneficial* to their mental health challenges. My co-author, Destinee Adams, for @TIME certainly didn't think so.

I've gone through all 359 pages of this release to @JasonLeopold and compared them against prior releases to see what redactions have been removed ⬇️

⏺️Most removals are related to Roger Stone, Wikileaks
⏺️Some removals around Manafort, Gates Ukraine including Podesta Group, MCW
STONE wanted to hire someone for social media on the 2016 Trump campaign from South Carolina and believed social media was an important vehicle.

Throughout these 302s it has become increasingly clearer how much Roger Stone valued social media for the campaign.
STONE, TRUMP, MANAFORT and others were anxious about when the release of certain Clinton, DNC emails would be released. One time, Gates says MANAFORT was very congratulatory of STONE suggesting STONE had a role to play in the Wikileaks releases.

Jerome Corsi (associate of Roger Stone) and Ted Malloch sought to access Wikileaks (for Hillary emails) and Julian Assange via "NIGEL FARAGE" and "OTHER BREXIT PEOPLE".
Increasingly seems ROGER STONE was interested in both the funding and implementation of the data side of things in the Trump campaign as he is copied into an email regarding "'Data Guy in Trump Tower'" and details about "Giles[-]Parscale" (as in BRAD PARSCALE).
