Kwara State, Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Banigbe Remilekun Oluwatobi has assured the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) Board Members good working relationship for the betterment of the society.
The Commissioner made this assertion in her office during a familiarization visit by the board members yesterday.
Banigbe said it is the responsibilities of everyone in keeping the environment clean, noting that, having a team work will lead to achieving success.
"KWEPA is part of the ministry but a parastatal board, we are one, we will all do it together for the state to be in order" she remarks.
The Commissioner then affirms that KWEPA will be adequately carried along on any decision making for smooth relationship to allow progress in this present administration.
In his own remarks, the Chairman, KWEPA Board Members, Pastor Paul Zhiri Twosa, said the agency needs to be revived as it had a lot of challenges at hand.
He therefore plead with the ministry not to deprive them of their functionary roles but be carried along on environmental management issues.
Pastor Twosa emphasized on the need for the resuscitation of the agency in all spheres as the job needs thorough supervision and enforcement.
The General Manager, KWEPA, Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan musa in his own contribution, commended the Commissioner for being dedicated and hardworking since inception.
He implored the ministry to intensify efforts in sensitizing and enlightening the public on environmental issues especially the usage of the newly deployed rorobins in Ilorin metropolis.
Among the board members team present were: Nicholas Agboola - member, Abdul Mumini Alade - member, Kudirat Issa- member, Saadu Hawawu Ajoke - member and KWEPA management staff.

Kwara Gov launches new tractors, implements to boost food security
Kwara State Governor @RealAARahman on Wednesday commissioned 15 new tractors and several modern farm implements,
effectively giving bite to the mechanisation component of the recently launched state agricultural transformation plan.
