9 Traits of Rich People

How many do you have?

/THREAD/
1. Discipline

Getting rich isn't as sexy as many think

It involves doing a lot of boring and repetitive things every day

Rich people don't rely on motivation to get things done

They do daily what broke people do occasionally
2. Action

Everyone has goals and makes plans for the future

The difference is that the ones that get rich, are the ones that act upon them

Planning without acting is just daydreaming
3. Patience

The rich realize that wealth creation does not happen overnight

They are willing to play the long game

They are patient and can wait for years for their efforts to pay off

They never look for quick and easy gains and take no shortcuts
4. Self-learning

The rich always aim to learn more

Bill Gates spends 2 weeks per year isolated reading books

Warren Buffett spends 80% of his working time reading

The broke think they know everything, the rich understand they know nothing
5. Financial literacy

The rich educated themselves on the basic financial principles

• Index fund investing
• Compound interest
• The Rule of 72
• Diversification
• The 4% Rule
• Accounting
• Budgeting

They have their money work for them to make more money
6. Emotional intelligence

If you want to become rich you need:

• Empathy
• Motivation
• Social skills
• Self-regulation
• Self-awareness

That way you:

• Communicate effectively
• Manage emotions
• Resolve conflicts
• Are optimistic
• Are calm
7. Time management

Rich people avoid multitasking and focus on things that are

• Valuable
• Impactful
• Important

Time is their most valuable asset and they choose carefully where they devote to
8. Delayed gratification

Rich people avoid consuming social media content just to get short-term pleasure and instant gratification

They are active creators, instead of passive consumers

They delay gratification to get greater rewards down the road
9. Frugality

Rich people do not:

• Wear designer clothes
• Live in mansions
• Drive luxury cars

Rich people:

• Do not obsess over material possessions
• Stick to their budget
• Live frugally

The rich stay rich by acting like they are broke
To summarize:

1. Discipline
2. Action
3. Patience
4. Self-learning
5. Financial literacy
6. Emotional intelligence
7. Time management
8. Delayed gratification
9. Frugality

These are some of the traits that rich people have

The future of employment will never be the same after the pandemic

Here's what you need to know to stay ahead

/THREAD/
I have been working 100% remotely for more than a year and will continue after the pandemic

During that year I have made several observations that gave me great insights into what the future of employment will hold

Here are some of my thoughts and predictions
1. Flexible Schedule

You will set your own schedule as long as you

• Meet the deadlines
• Satisfy client needs
• Communicate timely and effectively

The 9-5 is officially dead

Having a job that's easy for everyone makes you expendable

Having a job that's easy for you makes you irreplaceable

The $8 million janitor with the Buffett mindset

The incredible story of Ronald Read and what it can teach you

/THREAD/
Ronald Read was a World War II veteran from humble beginnings

He worked his entire life at a gas station and as a janitor at JCPenny

Despite his less than modest job and salary, he amassed an $8 million fortune until he passed away at the age of 92 in 2014
Even his family was surprised to find out about his fortune

His stepson said about him:

"He was a hard worker, but I don’t think anybody had an idea that he was a multimillionaire"

So, how did he do it?

9 Things I Did To Become The CEO Of My Life

/THREAD/
1. I invested in myself

I have been constantly investing money and time into

• Financial literacy
• High-paying skills
• Building a social media presence
• Networking with high-quality people

My biggest investment by far has been in myself and has given me infinite ROI
2. I fired and hired

I "fired" from my life people that are:

• Toxic
• Deadweight
• Demotivating

I "hired" new people who are:

• Optimistic
• Helping me grow
• Value my time and skills

I am the average of my closest people, that's why I only "hire" the best

How I increased my 9-5 salary by 78% in less than 2 years

/THREAD/
1. High-paying skills

I acquired skills that are high-paying and in high demand in the job market

This helped me switch to the data analytics field which has better prospects

My previous skills paid the bills. My new skills will pay for my freedom ticket
2. Networking

I leveraged my social media presence on LinkedIn to connect with

• Recruiters
• HR reps from companies in my field
• Employees with 2-3 more years of experience than me

These connections helped me navigate my professional transition

7 reasons why index funds can make you a millionaire

/THREAD/
When the first index fund was introduced by Jack Bogle's Vanguard in 1976, people were laughing

They said it would be a sure path to mediocrity and a failure

Today it is considered the best and surest way to make you a millionaire

Here's why
1. Low expenses

Index funds are passively managed to try to approximate the performance of a specific index of companies

That way they have much lower fees compared to the more common mutual funds
