we saw maybe 1 big account in pdx post about this. On the ground when we mention this happened ppl act like theyve never heard of it. This was a major tragedy. Ppl who continue to hold clout celebrated CHAZ while Antonio Mays Jr. was barely in the ground. Zero reflection followed
half a year later settlers were tagging RHAZ at red house. We dont support settler autonomous zones any more than we do a red usa. reckoning w CHAZ would eviscerate 95% of ‘left’ formations across tendencies. this is why white MLs and anarchists alike hate ‘Settlers’ by sakai
🧵 cw abuse /// part of why we started this group is a shared experience of being further abused in Restorative Justice processes after seeking help about an abuser, as well as regularly witnessing victims of the most heinous abuse smeared for ‘not using rj’
we appreciate ppl doing the work to prefigure new systems to address abuse and sustain survivors, & some ppl (not a ton!) are even doing good work under the name RJ/TJ. we dont talk to cops, we dont encourage comrades to expect justice from courts. they’re not of us.
at the same time we want to intervene in this discourse bc ppl carry the assumption that RJ is at its core anarchist/abolitionist. It absolutely is not. It is employed many different ways, but it is a practice with an origin, and that origin/continued history is from the colony.
Tho we reject false unity w abusers, their cronies, settler chauvinists, and grifters, we’re multi-tendency for many reasons, chiefly bc abuse/apology is rooted in every sector of the 'left', but also bc we hate the subcultural left, which is so deeply and terminally useless to
the deepest masses. We're multi-tendency in the footsteps of the George Jackson Brigade, which is to say we strive to meet survivor revolutionaries at the horizon of militancy, towards the burnt out skeleton of the empire, , thru the patient and lifelong mutual coordination of
resources, political education, and self defense, thru protracted armed struggle, thru the eradication of cis heteropatriarchy, colonialism, whiteness, racism, ableism, and anti-Blackness. We scour history for every tool to put the deepest masses in power,
