Why now to #EndDHSRetaliation? 1) Because @DHSgov has been deporting, detaining, and surveilling immigrant activists who speak out for years; 2) bc every day immigrants organize despite ICE and DHS's abuses, and 3) bc we can't wait any longer for change. bit.ly/dhsretaliation

Even as violent right-wing nationalists stormed Congress in a failed attempt to keep Trump in office, right-wing politicians and media personalities attempted to blame “Antifa” for the violence at the Capitol. 2/8
Disturbingly, the political motivation behind this memo is made all the more transparent by the fact that it references anti-racist protests as evidence of “Antifa” activity while making no mention of violent far-right protest activity. 3/8

Our data should be private and protected. Here are three recommendations from our latest report on how to ensure data protection for all bit.ly/JFLtech
1. States should stop sharing DMV data directly with ICE. Many states and localities already have laws and policies to limit the sharing of addresses, school info or other sensitive personal data with ICE. They should consider adopting similar laws for DMV data.
2. States should stop selling DMV data to private companies. Our data should not be for sale. It also allows ICE to bypass data protections placed on direct access to DMV data by simply buying it from these companies.
