THREAD - A current person who smokes in Australia and wants to switch to vaping?
Here's what you need to do.
You'll need to prove to your DR that you've tried every other method currently available BEFORE you *may* be given a prescription for #nicotine #SwitchingIsWinning
Then you either need to find a local pharmacy that has these products or navigate the Personal Importation Scheme.
Pharmacies will likely have next to no experience in how different flavours can help switching, or a large range of these flavours, devices, trouble shooting, etc.
Our upcoming laws mean that pharmacies req registration to compound/dispense e-liquid with nicotine.
Don't worry, the Personal Importation Scheme means you can buy from International sites, because as a first timer, this should be really easy to research and navigate, right?
But then you need to know what kind of device you'll need, and also navigate the mg strength to suit that device. And it'll only take a little while for the postal service a while to get these to you. All services are on time*
*may not be accurate
Unless you have a prescription, the package may be seized or destroyed.
That's okay though, because I'm sure that every single worldwide vendor realises that they now need to meet requirements/paperwork for Aust - they don't have enough things to do running a business, right?
I forgot to mention that there is only a handful of Dr's/GP's in Australia that actually believe vaping is actually a form of lower risk alternative to combustible tobacco.
So, you'll probably need to help your long term Dr even understand what vaping is- let alone the safety.
In the mean time, there are PLENTY of shops that sell cigarettes, in fact they are everywhere you look.
Combustible tobacco (even with all the harm they cause) are still readily available, but you'll be strong enough to resist that purchase urge, won't you?
Okay.
Once you receive your products and succeed, it's likely you'll feel invigorated mentally/physically, compelled to tell your story.
You'll face incredible opposition because the rest of the world believes that you're doing the same harm to yourself as you did when smoking.
In fact, many of the citations involved in this legal process by our TGA have been either debunked or involve opinions over science to make this hard for you.
Cigarettes though are still marked as safe.
Still with me?
