Left Lufthansa flights that fly over Russia, all flights to China, Japan, S.Korea, Thailand and New Delhi. They will most likely have to add routes via a more expensive route to Bangkok

Mean while on the right is Aeroflot who would basically lose Western Europe and Morocco

If other EU countries,like France, join in they could effectively force Aeroflot out of Western Airspace. It would put China in an awkward position as most of their national carriers don't have deep coverage into Europe, mostly CDG it seems

It helps to understand Great Circle Routes to understand why be blocked from flying into Russian air space would make flights to China much much longer

Adding a stop in Mumbai adds an extra 2196 miles to the flight! At 630 MPH that is an extra 6 hours!

Seems like they could route down via Turkey and be okay but that is more time and more fuel

anyone know what they are actually planning on doing?

realized I put in 630 when actual speed would be about 100 below that, flights times would increase by much more
