Night class got their first stern lecture from me after their test performance
And it must’ve resonated because I ain’t never seen the whole class listening intently the whole time 😂😂
More or less the same stuff I told my class in the spring, but added in the stuff I’ve been tweeting a lot about lately especially about shying away from hard things
When you challenge people, if they’re worth anything, they will respond.
And I think that’s the problem with this generation
People don’t care about them enough to challenge them.
They have so much fear and anxiety over failure. Proof that participation trophy culture doesn’t work because how can you fear failure when everyone wins?
“The fact that brain activity is most intense when people have a growth mindset, shows just how important it is that people believe in themselves and they know that brains can grow and change with hard work.”
“I don’t have enough time for”
“I’ve tried and I can’t do this”
“It’s too hard for me”
“I don’t know”
“I can’t make this any better”
Major habit - excuses
“I wanna do *this* but can’t because of *this*”
Do you do this often?
Phrases that signal a growth mindset
“How can I make this better”
“What can I add to this”
“I don’t know right now, but I can find out”
“I need more practice at this”
“I’m on the right track”
