kaeya hears the soft click of the luggage being closed from the foot of the bed and frowns. he's pretending to be asleep, lying motionless in him and diluc's master bedroom.

he deeply inhales, feeling how cold the room is without diluc's warmth pressing behind

his back, how large their bed is without another person in it.

kaeya misses him already. he hears soft footsteps pad closer to his side of the bed and diluc's lips pressing on his forehead.

"i love you," diluc whispers.

kaeya can feel the smile in voice and he can't help but

sneak a peek at diluc's expression. so much for pretending. he opens his arms and diluc embraces him tightly, not caring to ruin his thousand mora suit.

"i'll be back before you know it," diluc kisses his jawline.

"don't come back unless you have presents," kaeya sulks, unable

to let him go. instead he grips on him tighter, longer, just to make him stay.

"kaeya," diluc says, elongating the last syllable of his name.

finally the other loosens his hold on him, opting on grabbing onto the hem of diluc's suit jacket making diluc sigh.

the act somehow

reminds kaeya of crepus back when they were children, like father like son, he guesses.

but instead of reprimanding him, diluc kneels so they're face to face, and tucks a strand of his hair into his ear. the look in his eyes makes kaeya melt and its makes it even harder for him

to let diluc go.

"i love you," kaeya says as he holds onto diluc's hand and slots his fingers between his, "stay."

diluc inhales a sharp breath, staring at kaeya's eyes and exhales, shaking his head.

"okay."
