Over the weekend, Samuel Lazar (no. 275 on the FBI’s Capitol wanted list, who bragged about macing officers at Capitol) showed up to a rally in a “Back The Blue” t-shirt.
There was apparently some drama involving state Sen. Doug Mastriano.
Especially because Mastriano organized buses to D.C. on Jan. 6 and was within spitting distance of barrier breaches. huffpost.com/entry/doug-mas…
Lazar’s family of huge Mastriano fans are now very mad!
The default here is to blame “the media,” but Sam Lazar’s actions on Jan. 6 were not only captured on video, but he openly bragged on video and on social media.
"We maced them right the fuck back... fuck the tyrants... there's a time for peace and then there's a time for war... we need to hang these motherfuckers.”
Proud Boy’s mom to him on Jan. 6: “When are you heading home… You need to get out of there… let me know when your out of the city….” huffpost.com/entry/proud-bo…
Proud Boy’s mom had advice on pepper spray:
"Try washing them with baby shampoo… And water… Baby shampoo or dawn mixed with water for the skin around the area.”
"The invidual is wearing a dark baseball type hat with 'KEEP AMERICA GREAT' in bright orange letters on the hat. The individual was also wearing a dark coat with a Burberry print around the hood of the coat.”
Capitol defendant Christian Kulas was arrested in Chicago today.
Kulas was publicly IDed about a week after the attack.
Hearing now beginning for Douglas Jensen, the QAnon believer who now says he realizes he bought into a “pack of lies.” Background from WaPo: washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/06…
Jensen is being arraigned on the superseding indictment. Lawyer enters standard not guilty pleas, as expected.
Jensen’s full motion for review of his detention is worth a read.
"he fell victim to this barrage of internet sourced info and came to the Capitol, at the direction of the President of the United States, to demonstrate that he was a “true patriot.”
Remember Trump impeachment lawyer Michael van der Veen? He’s back! And he’s representing an Oath Keeper who used to worked for Four Seasons. Nice callback for the fans. huffpost.com/entry/trump-la…
Something that’s stuck in my head: The violent Capitol rioter who was nabbed off a facial recognition hit on his girlfriend’s Instagram grid is about as off-the-grid as 31-year-olds get these days. Didn’t even have his own cell phone! huffpost.com/entry/facial-r…
Imagine how much effort it takes to live without a cell phone these days, and then you get nabbed by a facial recognition hit on your girlfriend’s public Instagram grid.
"He is an anomaly for his generation – he has no cellular phone and almost no presence on social media… [he was] persuaded by the rhetoric of President Trump and the Republican party, and was led to believe that the 2020 election was stolen.” storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
Today marks 150 days since the Capitol insurrection. Here’s my look at how Jan. 6 is reshaping the budget and the federal government’s approach to domestic terrorism. huffpost.com/entry/justice-…
Based on publicly available information, the universe of suspects the feds want to charge is nearing 800.
The FBI told Congress this week in a budget request that “approximately 2000 individuals are believed to have been involved with the siege.”
I poured over the detailed DOJ budget requests send to Congress. They paint a portrait of a federal government struggling to keep up with a growing domestic terror threat. huffpost.com/entry/justice-…
