Today's #WWDC day. Who else wonders if there's a render rush panic right before the stream starts?
I guess they didn't know how to open WWDC this year.
They went with arena rock.
For some reason the 15 in iOS 15 feels like a lot. It's been a while hasn't it.
Spatial audio coming to FaceTime. But what I've found interesting about video calls is that you can't talk over each other. Which I've realized is a normal part of conversation.
Facetime Links. So now it works in the browser on other devices!
This feels as close to iMessage on Android as we're getting. But... they haven't talked about iMessage yet.
SharePlay is looking pretty neat with the shared streaming feature. Looks quite capable.
Screen sharing is what I've been wanting for FaceTime tech advice with my family.
Looks like what happens in iMessage will not be staying in iMessage.
ahem... Messages
Focus is looking interesting. But I know I will struggle to figure out how to set it up. This does remind me a bit of the work vs personal mode in BB10. Anyone remember that?
Okay the selecting text in any photo is pretty neat. I will be very curious to see how accurate it is. Supports seven languages, but will it translate?
Looks like Spotlight is getting some major Google like features.
Apple Wallet is designed to replace the wallet I'm told. There's home keys and car keys, but what about my driver's license?
There we go! If you live in a participating state.
Looks like Apple's purchase of Dark Sky is getting implemented in Weather.
The elevation and night mode in Apple Maps looks pretty cool actually.
The 3D graphics in Apple Maps reminds me of Simpsons Hit and Run.
Please make a video game with this!
Something new with AirPods!? Software or Hardware?
Conversation boost will confuse people who are talking to you while wearing AirPods even more.
AirPods Pro and Max are now part of the Find My network. I'm very curious how the proximity view works.
iPad time now. Interesting how Apple views what the iPad is for. Widgets are coming to the home screen in an iPhone like way. With an even larger size available.
App Library in the dock is the big deal here. If I can drag apps to sidebar from there.
Oh! They're making multitasking a little more discoverable.
Minimize apps onto the "Shelf." This is an interesting new paradigm. Is it going to be confusing though?
Swift playgrounds is bringing a whole new dimension to productivity? Looks like we can all become developers now! Even your mom.
So no user switching?
It's privacy time, starting with addressing E-mail pixels. Your identifying information can now be hidden.
How many of you would be regularly reading you Web and App Privacy reports?
Oh Siri doesn't need an internet connection to work anymore?! Privacy win yes. Convenience win too TBH. Siri's processed on device.
More free iCloud storage is what we want. Please.
I'm a little confused about iCloud+. Do you only get it if you're paying for extra storage? I'm going to have to look into that.
It is been interesting how apps and even the Apple Watch have been integrated in medical research.
I don't know how I'll feel when my iPhone tells me I'm not walking well.
Interesting, one can share health data with family members. Do I want/need this?
We're over an hour in and only talking about WatchOS now. Will we get to MacOS?! This is going to be a long one I think
Maybe I should try the Apple Watch mindfulness again. I just get so distracted!
Oh this portraits watch face looks pretty cool!
I love that Apple has a two story home set.
All of you seems like a great solution to hours of hunting for content to watch together. Anyone else remember spending hours in Blockbuster with a group of friends?
I was about to ask what car was under that cover. But couldn't tell in that quick transition.
MacOS time. Just recapping the features they introduced earlier. Coming here too.
Universal Control will let you use multiple devices with one mouse and keyboard. This is quite interesting. There have been a couple of moments when I've thought "this would be handy"
So the iPad is sort of a second screen. While still being an iPad.
HaHa! Craig just dragged a Procreate image across three devices beside each other. That's pretty cool.
AirPlay to Mac will be handy. But my Airplay list is already getting long.
Oh! Shorcuts are on MacOS now. For those workflow optimizers out there, this is for you.
Sounds like they're transitioning from Automator to Shortcuts over the years.
Hmmm... There's a complete redesign of the Safari interface here. I'm not sure how I feel about this simplification. Users are going to have to learn a new browsing workflow.
Tab and address bar moved to the bottom of iOS. This is actually nice for big phone users.
There's more?! Teleport us Craig!
This is a developer conference. So we're learning what Apple's developed for them.
There are a lot of features flying across the screen ending at Object Capture. You can create 3D assets simply from iPhone photos. Interesting for game developers and furniture stores as they're showing us.
I'm no developer. But it appears that Concurrency in Swift will help developers more easily take advantage of Apple's multi-core future.
App Store is getting targeted product pages.
It appears that there's going to be more promotional opportunities in the App Store for developers.
Xcode Cloud seems like a really convenient new feature for developers. It'll test run your app in the cloud. Looks like it centralizes many aspects of app development.
TestFlight coming to the Mac! I know a lot of developers have been asking for it. There would have been applause for this I think.
New releases coming in the fall for all of us. Looks like we're wrapping up. Lots to parse through here.
