West Bengal | Shootout at New Town area between STF and unidentified persons; CID and police team present

We had info that some criminals were staying here. When we came for raid, we found Jaspreet & Jaipal, who are wanted in several cases in Punjab. We tried to arrest them but they resisted & fired at us. In retaliation, we also fired & they were shot dead: VK Goyal, ADG, Bengal STF

An inspector has been hospitalised after being injured. Both (Jaspreet & Jaipal) had bounty of Rs 10 lakhs & Rs 5 lakhs respectively & were involved in many cases incl murder & bank robbery. Rs 7 lakh cash, 5 weapons, 89 live rounds of ammunition seized: Vineet K Goyal, ADG, STF

They (Jaspreet & Jaipal) are accused of killing two ASIs in Punjab last week. They were involved in other crimes including robbery & dacoity. Punjab Police have confirmed their identity. A team of Punjab Police has arrived here: Vineet Kumar Goyal, ADG, West Bengal STF in Kolkata

As per info, Jaipal (killed in an encounter with STF in Kolkata today) was absconding since 2014 & during all these years, he had committed many heinous crimes & was wanted in more than 25 sensational criminal cases: Punjab Police

Punjab Police today arrested Ludhiana-resident Bharat Kumar from near Shambhu border in Rajpura & recovered a .30 bore pistol. Bharat is a close accomplice of Jaipal & was providing logistic support to him in MP's Gwalior after Jaipal & Jaspreet fled from Punjab: DGP Dinkar Gupta

West Bengal: Forensic team visited New Town area, Kolkata for investigation where the encounter took place between STF & criminals. Bodies were taken for post-mortem after the investigation.

We reviewed about examination & admission process & took some important decisions. Class 9 & 11 examinations which were postponed earlier have now been cancelled: Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia

Pvt schools which have conducted both mid-term & annual exams can declare results & promote their students. Govt/govt aided/private schools in which only mid-term exams happened should declare results based on mid-term examination: Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia

Schools in which mid-term exams didn't happen, they've to prepare result based on the best 2 subjects of students. Delhi govt schools will declare results for class 9 & 11 on the directorate of education's website on June 22: Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia
