People surprised when I tell them I got the damn covid-19 and (have) survived. Yes. It is/was extremely painful. The first 3-5 days were hell. I didn't know I had that many ancestors, if my dreams/hallucinations are anything to go by.
What did I do/use?
Took Ginsomin (1×2) for 7 days
Azithromycin 500mg 1×1 for 7 days
Vitamin C 4×2 still taking
Zinc 1×1
Extradol 2×4 for the days I felt I needed.
Steamed using hot water in a bucket. I placed the ka bucket on my knees and covered myself with a towel. At least for 5 minutes every 2 hours if I managed to wake up. Used dragon on the nostrils. Ate a clove of garlic while at it. Vile stuff. You can survive this.
I did take Dexona. Was it 6 per day? I have never loved drugs/tablets this much!
Was always in the sun at 4pm to 5pm. So beautiful and relaxing! You will not want to leave the warm showers! It is like the best time of the day.
Tea! Copious amounts of the thing! I made it myself. Mujaja, garlic, lemon grass (Kisubi) and honey. I avoided cold water like a problem. Took like a full 1.5 litre flask a day. Was not eating much. I hate Matooke, but it was nice. Something hot & pasty. The appetite goes quick.
You will want to maximize any moment you get an appetite. Eat quick, then you lose breath and go back to bed. Keep warm. Whether you sweat is irrelevant. Keep warm.
Oh. I also need to be informed when the next vaccines come. I will line up and be first to get the jab.
Lest I forget, I ate raw ginger. A sister-in-law who has ulcers was admitted for taking raw ginger,it may not be recommended for those w/ulcers. It was really a tea spoon sized piece. I wd peel it. And cut into two or three pieces. Chew, swallow the juice. Extremely irritating.
Was told by my mum that it breaks the cough. Mums know a lot of stuff, so I took it. Also, mum would call. She still does. And, we would talk about a lot of stuff. Goats. Soy beans. The kids. It was helpful. I ignored all other phone calls. Mostly. Sorry @Samwyri

Kiggundu v Diamond Trust Bank (U) Ltd & Another: Executive and Legislative lethargy punished or Judicial aloofness in overdrive? WARNING; VERY LONG THREAD

The Privatization Unit(PU) had just hired a legal wizard. It is rare to get a 1st Class degree in law from the School of Law
, Makerere University. The PU advertised for Expressions of Interest in the acquisition of the rights of government in the Uganda Cement Industries which owned two cement manufacturing plants; Hima in Kasese & at Tororo. That advert (unsurprisingly) had a few misrepresentations.
The successful party took over Hima Cement and renamed it Hima Cement (1994) Limited on 14th December 1994. In a messy divestiture process, the Hima and Tororo cement divestitures were excellent. The buyers paid well. Almost $20.5 million.

Heroes Day. @RailwaysUganda are without doubt the most resilient and honest people out there. Ignored and wished away for 35 years, they have proven that they will be here till the next time the world wants to annihilate itself. Like Peter Zeihan counsels; Keep in mind...1/n
that it is extremely hard to move stuff around. It is easiest to move stuff by water. It is ¼ cheaper to move stuff by rail than by road. To have any chance at civilization or social metamorphosis, any country MUST have an extremely cheap, widely available and sustainable way...
to move stuff (including people). Uganda, as a landlocked country MUST, above everything else, stop joking around with the issue of transportation. We should develop the inter-country links with haste. And, MUST get Uganda Air Cargo rejuvenated. The Standard Gauge Railway...

Reasons why the Bacwezi Empire collapsed:
1. Death of their beloved cow, Bihogo.🤣

It is really strange, how the statement above, earned one a mark, and could be the difference between one getting admitted to @Ntare_School or ending up in a dump like Mbarara High...
Today's @DailyMonitor had an interesting story at page 3. An Ambassador from Uganda, Mull Katende, said to have over 30 years of diplomatic experience under his belt, reportedly had a testy exchange with Jared Kushner, also Trump's son-in-law, and most important advisor...
Interestingly, his boss, @KagutaMuseveni had just had a visit from Bibi Netanyahu, that was widely hailed to be a diplomatic coup, considering what was)is at stake.
Jared, irked, reportedly asked, the elder diplomat, "What country do you represent?"

ENTEBBE AIRPORT AND THE RACE FOR REGIONAL HUB STATUS
There is no doubt that the facilities at @UgandaCAA's Entebbe International Airport, opened 10th November 1951 as the largest airport in Africa, are dated and in need of serious upgrade and repair.
@UgandaCAA It is the reason why top honchos at the Uganda CAA came up with a $586m modernization plan for the beloved airport, a scene of very many dramatic experiences for very many nationalities.
@UgandaCAA On Saturday, August 29, 2015, the construction of Phase 1 of the expansion started. The cost; $200m from Export-Import Bank of China payable in 20 years. The first 5 years were given as the grace period. Phase 1 involved a new 20,000 square meter Passenger Terminal...

The construction of the Kampala Jinja Expressway, one of, if not the most important component of the Northern Corridor Transport route, is slated to start in June, 2020.

However, there is a question for you; how much would you pay to drive your car for 95kms?
This was basically the most heated discussion when a Chinese company, China Railway No. 17 Bureau Group threw a spanner in the works, and wrote to Uganda's president that they CD build the 95km rd at similar cost, using their money and deliver all 95km in 3 years!
Very tempting, ain't it? The @EUinUG @AfDB_Group and French had already given $400m as viability gap funding for the $1.4 billion road. $300m for compensation of land owners and $1.1b to construction. What an expensive 95kms!
