A new Ipsos poll has found that Gen Z is significantly more likely to identify as LGBTQ+ than their older counterparts.

The survey found Gen Z participants were 4 times as likely to identify as transgender, non-binary, non-conforming, gender-fluid, or 'other than male or female.'
Also, 68% of Gen Z respondents identified as heterosexual vs. 78%, 84%, and 87% for millennials, Gen X, and baby boomers, respectively.

Ipsos' results are consistent with other recent polling that shows Gen Z is consistently more diverse in its gender and sexual identities than older generations.

'The rigid lines around gender and sexuality are just opening up for everybody,' said Professor Phillip Hammack, director of UC Santa Cruz's Sexual and Gender Diversity Laboratory, to the Washington Post in February 2021.
