Argentine society is DEEPLY in denial about its shameful racism.
"Negro de mierda" (literally "shit n****") is a commonplace insult that has only recently started being socially shunned.
And, of course, critics of the term are accused of being "PC" and "woke" by the racists.
Argentine culture is rich and fascinating. Buenos Aires is a very interesting city.
Neither of those things have anything to do with "being more European."
That's always been code for "white" in the most vile racist sense.
Brown Argentines are literally erased from public discussion, politics, media, arts, etc.
They are made invisible by calling them "foreign" (Bolivian, etc.) and only essentialized as a "proletarian mass" or "rabble" to benefit "white" politicians like the guy who just said that.
(Argentine-American here. Grew up there. Saw it first hand. Always revolted by it.)
Average Argentine Bro: “We don’t have racism in Argentina because we don’t have black people like in the US, Brazil, Uruguay…”
Also AAB: “See, there were Afro Argentines in colonial times but we sent them to war as canon fodder and then a pandemic wiped them out LOL.”

Proponents of the "Nordic Model" say they want to help sex workers.
Imagine if they did they the same claiming to "help musicians" (a thread):
- So, you can still be a musician. But we want to arrest anyone who may try to buy a ticket to your show or buy your album... (1/5)
- Say what?
- Yes. We want them to be terrified to support you or your music. Also we wanna arrest anyone who might drive you to a gig, or help you with your music.
- How is that helping musi...
- It is. We mean well. (2/5)
- Oh an any of the people trying to buy your music will be charged an enormous fine, will be shamed in front of their community AND (get this) will be made to attend "Music Fan School" where people who hate music will try to reprogram them.
For those who are asking: Twitter froze my account for 12 hours and penalized me with "a warning" because of my reporting on a religious organization (initials E.C.) who is behind the current anti-Pornhub campaign. (1/2)
If you google public record information on the leader of that campaign (initials L.M., a public figure) plus the words "Justice Defense Fund," you can take a guess as to why I was "reported."
Might this be my annotated copy of the (bonkers bananas) religious manifesto co-written by the founder of Exodus Cry explaining their real motives for trying to outlaw porn?
Might there be more about this coming soon?
I think @NickKristof and Senator @JeffMerkley should have done their due diligence and read Benjamin Nolot’s “Babylon” before platforming their War on Porn messaging unfiltered...
Here’s a teaser from my deep dive into the (bonkers bananas) religious manifesto co-written by the Exodus Cry founder.
The book includes an ad for the ministry’s Trump University-style “education” grift IHOPU.
If you don't think we are witnessing a WELL-FUNDED, 100% COORDINATED "War on Porn" being waged at the state and corporate level in the US, Canada, UK and Europe, please believe me when I tell you that I literally cannot keep up with covering the news because it's CONSTANT rn
Please listen:
- The current War on Porn started in March when religious groups NCOSE and Exodus Cry abandoned their last strategy (to declare phony "public health crisis" around porn) and switched to "Section 230" and "Destroy Pornhub" ... (1/2)
- GOP Politicians (+ Dem enablers) jumped on "state censorship" under the guise of "Section 230" reform ALL SUMMER AND FALL leading into election.
- Kristof's NYT article 10 days ago was the beginning of the ALL HANDS ON DECK attack timed to Euro and US law proposals (2/2)
