Months after the Federal Election Commission notified several GOP state parties of major gaps in their 2020 fundraising and spending reports, the committees are correcting their numbers—but they still can’t explain why the discrepancies occurred.…
The issue raised new ? about possible abuse of a campaign finance loophole that allows wealthy megadonors to cut massive checks. Last year a number of GOP state parties failed to disclose transfers in the hundreds of thousand, sometimes millions of $ which violates reporting reqs
It appears systemic. The @FEC has so far sent notices to 10 of those 46 state parties that failed to report high-dollar same-day transfers from joint fundraising committees and to the RNC. So far, all but one have responded.
@RhodeIslandGOP “The $251,771.78 for the Post Gen report was missed on the original 30 Day Post Genreport that was filed so an amended report was filed to incl that.” They later filed another amend discl more than $455K in transfers from Trump Victory but did not offer an expl
Does anyone find it interesting that the state Democrat committees had no such problems???
Seems like another Trump Victory/ #WinRed bait and switch no?

And the corrected filings also show that some committees hadn’t told the FEC they joined Trump Victory, even though Trump Victory had included them. Their explanations have been unclear.…

LIARS! Reporting reqs did not change!

Hawaii didn’t announce its role in Trump Victory until this Feb. Four days later, the committee revealed nearly $1.7 million in transfers, claiming it missed the transactions “due to a misunderstanding regarding the reporting requirements”
The Oklahoma GOP passed hundreds of thousands of dollars from Trump Victory on to the RNC last year, but has still never officially joined the agreement. Last month, the treasurer wrote—twice—that he has been suffering from “serious health problems.”
However, while the state parties may have been unaware of the arrangement, the RNC wasn’t. The RNC reports include the transfers.

RNC/Trump throwing all the state GOP parties under the bus. Bwahahahahaha!
The FEC wanted to know how that was possible. In response to a question about the CO GOP’s unreported transfers, the RNC shifted all blame to the state, writing, “We have confirmed that we received funds from [the] Colorado Republican Committee. No further action is required.”
This doesn’t mean the FEC was baffled. In fact, the same month it asked the RNC to explain itself, the Wyoming GOP paid the FEC a major fine for the same types of omissions in 2016.

But now there’s a new dimension: A small D.C.-area bank may also be in the crosshairs.
Kristi Noem’s most recent state filings from Feb listed Kris Infield of Nelson and Nelson CPAs in Sioux Falls as her state campaign treas. The bank of record is #ChainBridgeBank in VA the same bank where her fed treas keeps @RandPaul treasure and that of…
IN @SenToddYoung IN-based “All Hands PAC”

In Jan 2020 TV told feds it would use Chain Bridge Bank, a popular institution among GOP comms. The RNC also held an account there but some state comms didn’t. Others recently told @FEC they had one, but initially failed to report it
AR and OK still haven’t reported an account with Chain Bridge. The Hawaii GOP only added the bank in February.

If the committees had established the accounts on their own, it’s unclear how they could have forgotten doing so. None of them have explained this to the FEC

In PA the state senators quietly targeted at least 3 small counties, all of which Trump had won handily. Their proposal was to have a private co scrutinize the county’s ballots, for free a move outside the official processes used for election challenges
Only one county is known to have agreed to the senators’ request: rural Fulton County, on the Maryland border, where Trump performed better than anywhere else in the state, winning nearly 86 percent of the roughly 8,000 votes cast.
On Dec. 31, in the quiet of the winter holiday, county officials allowed a West Chester, Pa., company called #WakeTSI to spend an afternoon recounting about 1,000 mail-in ballots and taking data from county voting machines.

I guess this is legal in the UK?

Multiple reports suggest that Johnson's financial situation has led to him attempting, and in some cases succeeding, to use donations from the Conservparty and other donors to pay for:…
The refurbishment of his Downing Street residence
A Caribbean holiday with his fiancee Carrie Symonds
His child's nanny
His own personal trainer
£27,000 worth of takeaway meals

Some commentators close to Johnson have suggested that these alleged money problems are due to the
reduction in his income since entering Downing Street, combined with payments for his indeterminate number of children, and his divorce from his second wife Marina Wheeler.

It’s called the Kensington Initiative, and it’s animated by the principle that simply arresting every dealer or buyer on a street corner for long the preferred tactic for narcotics busts won’t make a dent in the larger drug organizations upending residents’ lives.
The intel-driven effort, federal, state and local investigators meet for weekly huddles to share info has dismantled 5 Kensington heroin networks. Those arrested include a man they describe as a leader of the Clementine ring, Brandon Perez, 29.

For years Trump and his deputies played down the impact of greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels and delayed the release of an EPA report detailing climate-related damage

The destruction of year-round permafrost in Alaska, loss of winter ice on the Great Lakes and

The assessment, which languished under the Trump admin for three years, marks the first time the agency has said such changes are being driven at least in part by human-caused global warming

I see the ghost of J. Edgar was around

The Trump Justice Department secretly obtained Washington Post journalists’ phone records and tried to obtain their email records over reporting they did in the early months of the Trump administration on Russia’s role in the 2016 election
The last such high-profile seizure of reporters’ comma records came several years ago as part of an inv into the source of stories by a reporter who worked at BuzzFeed, Politico and the NYT. The stories at issue there also centered around 2017 reporting on the investigation into
Russian election interference.

It is rare for the DOJ to use subpoenas to get records of reporters in leak investigations, and such moves must be approved by the AG. The letters do not say precisely when the reporters’ records were taken and reviewed, but a dept spokesman said
