I’ve built two 7-figure online businesses

If I had to start a biz with no money, here’s how I’d do it

// THREAD //
1. Build an audience

Without paid advertising, building an audience organically is key

Use platforms
- Twitter
- Facebook
- YouTube
- Instagram
- TikTok

Post value + engaging content in one specific niche.

Interact with others + stay consistent.

Keep growing and don't stop.
You don't have to use social media.

Other options for growing an audience include

- blogs (post SEO articles consistently)
- podcasts (start your own or get on others)

This is a great way to grow an audience but can be slower than social media.
The goal is to gain a following of like-minded individuals with similar interests.

Don't worry about monetization yet... until you have a sizable audience.

And once you do...

It's time to start selling.
2. Create a store
Choose a product in your niche + build a store around it.

Figure out fulfillment, shipping, etc.

Make sure you have the entire process ready to go BEFORE you start selling.

(on how to do this, get our free mini-guide: mywifequitherjob.com/how-to-open-an…)
Once your store is ready to go?

Start selling!

Create social media posts, publish blogs, etc.

Just start advertising your store to your existing audience.

See what's working, what's not, + optimize.
3. Grow an email list

Once you're selling, you'll want to focus on your email list.

You can email only your customers OR use a lead magnet to get subscribers.
Either way:

The money is in the list.

Send a mix of newsletters + sales emails.
4. Start an info-publishing biz

Once you're crushing it?

You can now make money showing others how it's done.

This is exactly what I did with my blog: mywifequitherjob.com

Teach others how you did it + charge for it.

You can grow a 7-figure business just doing this alone.

13 Things You Didn't Know About ME

// THREAD //
1. In elementary school, I had a buck tooth that grew at a nearly 90 degree angle.

My friends used to give me tin cans to open with my teeth... until I got braces. :)
2. In 6th grade, I was a member of honors chorus (a singing group composed of about 30 kids).

The conductor told me to just mouth the words and pretend like I was singing... because I was that bad.

3 types of products you can sell online TODAY
(highly profitable + scaleable)

// THREAD //
There are many aspects to running an eCommerce business

Ex. advertising, fulfillment, employees, customer service, etc.

BUT

It all starts with your product.

Here are three different types of products you can sell as soon as today
Type #1: Candy-like product

These are products that don't solve any real problems.

But, they bring pleasure + are fun to own.

Example:
Fidget Spinners.

If they become a fad?

Boom. Sales can explode + you can get rich, easily.

The downside:

Fame is fleeting.

“When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.”

Starting a business will be one of the most stressful, painful, nerve-wracking experiences in your life.

It’s also worth it.
“If you need motivation, don’t do it.”

True motivation is not fabricated, you just feel it.

Makes sense why so many people start businesses after hitting rock bottom…

It all changed when my wife got pregnant.

We knew we couldn't keep this going

I run two 7-figure businesses (a blog and an ecommerce store)

Here are my must-have tools to run both of them:

(Quick thread)
Webhosting: Storm on Demand.

Normal fully-hosted shopping cart platforms would charge me $500 for everything I host.

Storm is just $50 and has fantastic customer support.
Shopping Cart: Shopify

You saw this one coming.

My site is on a HEAVILY modified version of OSCommerce, but I recommend you start with Shopify.

If it ain’t broken…
