Rumor has it he figured out most day traders-prop traders lost money because they had zero conviction. So he did the opposite, he put on huge positions and literally walked away and went to the beach.

This obviously worked because today he’s billionaire and runs one of the largest hedge funds in the world. The urban legend is that he literally put on massive trades and never looked at the screen until he was winning.

What’s even more impressive about this, is he was making no salary, zero nada while taking huge positions and then allegedly going to the beach. The moral of the story is that this guy was 100% self made and became a billionaire from trading and by not panicking.

If this isn’t who Bobby Axelrod is based on in Billions then I don’t know who it is, bc this hedge fund billionaire and Bobby Axelrod have everything in common from starting out as a day-prop trader, to growing up poor, to the college they attended.

Winners do not stare at positions all day, have zero emotions and hold through adversity.
