Minnesota Parent: "I don't know how anyone that says they care about POC can just leave them in these failing schools.

They know they have a chance to vote on ESAs that will give the very people that they say they care most about a chance to get out of these schools."

Minnesota Parent: "How can they just say no?

'You have to be trapped. You have to stay in these schools even though 70% of you can't read.'

And then go with your lawn signs and your t-shirts chanting 'Black Lives Matter.'

It's absolute hypocrisy."

NEW: Wisconsin legislature just passed a bill to expand funding students instead of systems.

It just passed the Senate 20 to 12

It already passed the Assembly 60 to 36

It now goes to the governor's desk.

Assembly Bill 59:

"The bill increases the income threshold for parents who want to enroll in Wisconsin’s Parental Choice program to 300% of the federal poverty level, or about $78,000 a-year for a family of four.

The equal education access bill now moves to Gov. Evers for his signature."

Parent: "Be respectful! You’re an elected representative representing us, this isn’t about you, bud."

School Board Member: "You’re not gonna stand up here and do anything to me, a**hole"

This kind of conflict is unnecessary

Families are frustrated because they are essentially powerless when it comes to K-12 education

They should have the power to vote with their feet to other education providers

We can remedy the power imbalance by funding students directly.
