EXCLUSIVE: Amazons “lead up campaign” will begin “Late 2021” which will be the start of November and will go into early 2022. This will be the LARGEST marketing push and will include trailers, teasers and other marketing techniques shows below in the thread.

CONFIRMED: Amazons “media launch” for season 1 of #LOTRonPrime will go live in 2022. The deadline for Amazon to release all episodes of season 1 is “US Fall 2022” (maximum). Amazons full marketing push will begin in November and go all the way into 2022 until the final episode.
Between June- October Amazon and New Zealand a film Commission will together plan the marketing plan for the show after receiving all the footage.

CONFIRMED- Amazon will be making a “making of” behind the sciences documentary for season one of #LOTRonPrime which will include lots of interviews with actors and producers.

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon will give the New Zealand Film Commission clips from season one to allow NZFM to produce 6, 60-90 second trailers specifically showing off the scenery or NEW Zealand in season 1. This will be released from November.

CONFIRMED: Amazon will create a “making of featurette” which will be part of the season one bonus collection. Similar to the bonus documentaries for the Jackson Film Trilogies New Line created.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will be directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who started as an animator in such classic films as Jin-Roh: The Lord of the Rings:
Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (the incredibly underrated The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) will write the screenplay, while Oscar-winner Philippa Boyens, who co-wrote the original Lord of the Rings movies, will return to consult on the project.
