#CRTinschools isn’t about CRT. It is about attacking anti-racism without being seen as anti-anti-racist (racist). It is propaganda paid for by the forces of white supremacy and those cynics who eagerly profit off of it like anti-CRT propagandist-in-chief @realchrisrufo. 1/
The real question is this: should we teach our kids to not be racist? If you, like me, want the USA to transcend the systemic racism that has polluted our minds and harmed our bodies, this answer is easy: teach our kids to love each other and dismantle racism in all its forms. 2/
But for the Rufos of the world, moral panic is a means to political ends and financial gain as you can see at bit.ly/antiCRTtweet
The idea is to instigate cultural division, inflame White resentment, and create space for anti-anti-racism (racism). 3/
We anti-racists should highlight anti-racism in our responses to this moral panic politics rather than treat anti-CRTism as a serious critique of the academic discipline. Hardly any anti-CRTists can name even one CRT scholar because it’s not about CRT, it’s anti-anti-racism. 4/
When you fight back against anti-CRTists in school settings, demand that your community’s children be taught to not be racist and that students learn about diverse historical figures as seen through a diversity of lenses. 5/
All of our kids deserve to not have their minds polluted by hate. They deserve the fulfillment that comes with being honored and honoring, the joy of diverse relationships, and the opportunities that an anti-racist world would afford us all. 6/
Let’s actively marginalize the influence of these propagandists who perpetuate racism for profit. Breaking the generational cycles of racism requires anti-racist education and activism. Nothing changes on its own. Time to work. 7/7
