"I've made a residence determination for the family, which means they will live in Perth, in the community and will reside there while their matters are heard," says Immigration Minister @AlexHawkeMP on Biloela family.
"They'll have access to schools and all the usual support that is provided while those processes are completed," says @AlexHawkeMP.
"They'll be as soon as possible reunited in Perth and I've determined they will live in accommodation provided by the department," says @AlexHawkeMP.
"It is community detention, it is a usual mechanism that we use to ensure people aren't in held detention."
Immigration Minister, @AlexHawkeMP says a family of Tamil asylum seekers will be allowed to live in community detention in Perth, but no decision has been made about their long-term future.
"Immigration Minister @AlexHawkeMP is working through appropriate responses in terms of assessing the health situation, the humanitarian situation and working there to ensure that the family, as I understand it, will be reunited,” says @Birmo on Biloela family.
"Circumstances have changed in the last week or so with of course the admission to hospital of this young girl. The Government's been listening very carefully to the community," says @Birmo, Finance Minister and Government Leader in the Senate.
"Ideally, the parents would have accepted the determination of the thorough Australian processes," says @Birmo.
"It is important not to create a situation where people are able to subvert or work around Australia's migration laws just by having a child."
