SO, I was lucky enough to get a HomePod off of eBay. Dropping some thoughts here. Thread. 
Setup was super easy as expected. Normal Apple ecosystem stuff.
This thing is gigantic. Like, look at this thing compared to my hand. I definitely do not have big hands. I fit like, medium gloves.
The sound though. It’s REALLY good. I am impressed by the amount of presence this thing has in a room. The HomePod mini was impressive on its own but this thing STOMPS on it.
I kinda wish I could’ve gotten it in space grey but those ones were selling for wayyyy higher. I’m lucky I got this one for so cheap relatively.
I still don’t think it’s for everyone, but I’m deep enough in the ecosystem to want and justify an entertainment speaker like this. Overall, I’m satisfied so far.
I’m super excited to use it more! And it has the same smart home functions as my HomePod mini. Yay, me!
Playing this thing and listening to it sync perfectly with the mini is nuts btw. I seriously love how good smart speakers are these days.
I can understand why Apple gave up on this thing, but I’m glad they’re still offering future software updates. This thing deserves it. As soon as spatial audio drops on the HomePods I’ll definitely let you know how I feel about it!
Now to get an Apple TV 4K…
