I've met 1000+ different people in the past 4 years.

Here are 8 ways you can build million $ relationships.

** THREAD **
Talk about them -

If you take 1 thing away from this, let it be this.

Everyone's favorite subject is THEMSELVES.

Listen to how many times they use the words "me" & "I".
People LOVE to talk about themselves.

You should ask about THEM.
Mirroring -

Use it to build rapport.

Example.

They say "I just got back from a business trip"

You say "Business trip?" adding a voice inflection.

This allows you the chance to learn more about their situation without breaking rapport.
Labeling -

Use phrases like "it seems as though..." "It sounds like..." So that they feel you're listening to them.

They say "We usually work with X niche"

You say "Oh great, it sounds as though you're dedicated to the cause?"

Check out Chris Voss for more details on this.
Family -

It's not all business when building relationships.

Everyone's second favorite subject is their family. Ask them about their partner, friends & children (if applicable).

You'll be amazed where these conversations lead to & what you end up finding out about people.
bonus points -

If they have children they will talk to you all day about them. Let them.

After you've built some rapport, ask them about their kids

It might sound strange, but I guarantee you're one of the only people that asked & they'll love you for it.
Find common ground -

This is the only place you can talk about yourself & sprinkle some value into the conversation.

easy.

Notice how we've had a conversation but you haven't even spoken about yourself yet?

This is the true art of conversation.
What to avoid -

Politics
Religion
Being Negative

You don't need to be Mr. Happy, but don't be miserable.
Also avoid -

Talking about yourself all the time
Relating the convo back to you always
Interrupting people
Not listening to them
Summary -

Keep it chilled. Conversation should be fun.

Be relaxed, make some jokes.

Relationships > Business.

They last longer & mean more.

6 differences between millionaires & 'get rick quick' (GRQ) junkies.

// THREAD //
Goals -

Millionaires break long-term goals down into actionable chunks.

I like the 5/3/1 strategy recommended by MJ DeMarco.
Where do you want to be in 5 years, 3 years & 1 year?

Take your 1-year goal & decide what you have to do TODAY.
Mindset -

Millionaires understand that building wealth is a process.

Consistency over 6 months > 14 hour days for 3 weeks then giving up.

GRQ junkies want instant results & live in Koh Samui sipping Pina Coladas.

When they fail, they give up.

Their expectation is flawed.
