BJP has announced AK Sharma, a Brahmin as UP BJP's new vice president.

This is a defeat for Modi-Shah.

Fight between Thakur & Brahmins in UP, which was already intense before Coronavirus hit UP badly as Brahmin functionaries of BJP were feeling sidelined by "arrogant" Thakur power center got worst after "floating dead bodies in Ganga" became visible symbol of failure of Modi-Shah.

Modi-Shah wanted to get rid off Yogi or as a substitute place a Brahmin/Bhumihar in Yogi cabinet to please angry Brahmin lobby of BJP. That flop move of bringing Jitin Prasad was part of the same desperate Brahmin pleasing move.

Looks like the writ of much weakened Modi-Shah couldn't prevail and neither was Yogi removed nor AK Sharma planted in Yogi cabinet. AK Sharma is former Gujarat cader IAS officer and close to Modi.

Modi wanted Sharma in Yogi cabinet and Yogi was able in resisting that.

Making AK Sharma a Vice President of UP BJP unit is a flop saving grace as he will be 16th BJP Vice President of UP, sharing this post with 15 other BJP VPs of UP. Technically he is in charge of Eastern UP and VARANASI.

It is clear that Modi-Shah is weaker than before and also that Brahmins of UP are not very pleased with BJP. Neither because Covid has hit all communities of UP including Brahmins very bad but also because there is a lurking comparison with BSP's Brahmin Mishra.

If I am a strategist of Behanji, I would suggest her to woo Brahmins of UP even more aggressivly to break a chunk of Brahmin supportors from BJP.

Brahmins are crucial "vote decider" in electoral politics of UP.

BJP ironically is India's & UP's largest Dalit party, wining nearly 80% of all SC reserved seats. The reason for that is very strategic.They give ticket to a Dalit candidate, who brings his Dalit sub castes' vote plus all upper caste Hindu votes in that SC reserved seat.BJP wins.

In UP in particular Brahmins are becoming that "tilting upper caste" voting community that decides the fate of winning Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha candidate.

Notice, BJP has additionally made AMIT VALMIKI, head of its Bulandshehar unit. VALMIKI DALIT community are substantial in Western UP.

BJP will cultivate this VALMIKI for SC reserved seat, where during elections VALMIKI plus all Upper Caste votes will help BJP win that seat.

BJP is playing its Dalit caste card very cleverly and is further helped by RSS organizational support and radicalized Hindutva generation.
People will soon forget Covid mismanagement and therefore BSP should play even more tactically and not take its victory for granted in UP.
