A lot of you have been asking why we are called "apna" which means ‘ours’ or ‘belongs to all of us’ in Hindi;

Here's the simple answer 👇

@RanveerOfficial @aliaa08 @SiddhantChturvD @kalkikanmani @ZoyaAkhtarOff @FarOutAkhtar & @vishalrr
"apna" is inspired by the Bollywood Anthem “Apna Time Aayega” from the movie #GullyBoy (India's Oscar Nomination for 2019). It is a movie about an aspiring hip-hop artist who makes it big despite all odds.
A boy born to humble beginnings with big dreams. He is faced with many personal setbacks; but makes the conscious choice to rise above it all. Through pure hard work, determination, and relentless hustle, he becomes India's favorite rapper.
The perception that if you are poor and do not have connections, you cannot pursue your dreams does not deter him. Defying classism and elitism, he breaks socio-cultural barriers.
To put it crudely, it is the story of most of the working class (~250 million Blue and Grey collar workers) - who have big ambitions but fewer means.
My favourite line from the movie is this "Main nahi badalta apna sapna apne sachai se mel khane ke vaaste ... main apna sachai badlega joh mere sapne se mel khaye"

And that is exactly what @apnahq 10 M+ users & growing, aspire for. Bending reality to match their dreams.
@apnahq mission is to connect people to opportunities. Bcoz when you solve for unemployment, you are also solving for poverty, education & health care.
During this pandemic @apnahq has facilitated 50M+ job interviews and work related conversations where people have started a business, found a gig or learnt a new skill.
Over the next few months we are going to focus on getting India back to work. As a part of our commitment - job posting and hiring is going to be free of cost for companies on apna.co.
