According to the US census, over 835,000 Tennesseans don’t have health insurance.

Tennessee is second in the nation in hospital closures, disproportionately affecting our rural communities.

Tennessee rates 40th in the nation when it comes to states with the best healthcare.
The system currently in place is delivering these results

Unless we change the system, the outcomes will remain the same

We can do better Tennessee
We need immediate expansion of medicaid.

It makes financial sense. We have missed out on BILLIONS of federal dollars which could have been used to expand access to healthcare by 1) increasing the number insured and 2) providing financial support in rural and underserved areas
It’s the ethical and moral thing to do.

As a Christian, I believe it’s time for us to put our money where our mouth is … we are taught to love our neighbors and care for the less fortunate — what better way to express these values?
