1/ Since joining @solana in February I've been focusing on ecosystem growth and support for Solana projects, it's been fascinating seeing how fast the ecosystem is growing firsthand.

Below are some of my observations from working within the #solanaszn hackathon 🧵

2/ Each Solana Hackathon presents an opportunity for teams to jumpstart their project and join the fastest growing ecosystem in crypto.

3/ For ongoing #solanaszn hackathon we had over 13,000 builders, designers, marketers, and operators registering for it:

4/ In total we received 350+ project submissions (here is the list of all project submissions: airtable.com/shriNT26cAZeDJ…)

Over the past 3 weeks I've had the joy of individually reviewing all 350 projects!! 😅

5/ DeFi submissions were the most common area, followed by NFTs, gaming, dev tooling, visualizers, explorers, staking & governance.

6/ Project Submissions breakdown:

- Around 30% of the total submissions were solid, high-quality teams with the potential to scale further.
- 10% of the submissions were promising but hadn't quite settled on a strong enough value proposition to maximize impact on the ecosystem.

7/ The remaining submissions were projects and teams that tried their best to build a viable project but unfortunately fell short this time, however many still demonstrated potential.

8/ 95+ of the initial projects were shortlisted and passed to judges across multiple tracks.

I was coordinating efforts to receive feedback on shortlisted projects for global tracks as well as regional track judges, including India, Vietnam, Africa, LATAM.

9/ Around 50 winning prizes will be announced in total very soon by @Solana 🏆

I won't be giving out any names for now, sorry 😉, you need to wait and see the final list in the upcoming Solana announcement...

10/ We also conducted a follow-up developer survey to get a greater understanding of what the project's developers first experiences of building on Solana was like

11/ Out of the survey participants, 95% of developers said that they will continue to build on Solana in the future and 90% of the developers will recommend building on Solana to a friend!

12/ After witnessing the supersonic growth of the Solana ecosystem, I am excited for the teams to introduce their new projects to the world.

Many of them are in the early stages of development so this is just the beginning and I can't wait to help them with their journey!
