Their mission: to support gun dealers who transfer firearms to a prohibited person, fail to run background checks & falsify records!

Here's another #ProGunTraffickingCaucus member who believes that going after rogue gun dealers that willfully violate the law and sell firearms to prohibited purchasers is "unconstitutional"
This member of #ProGunTraffickingCaucus doesn't seem to understand that maximizing the efficacy of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to crack down on rogue gun dealers violating our laws is *literally supporting law enforcement*
This member of #ProGunTraffickingCaucus will have you know that people commit crimes, not guns, but thinks you're too stupid to understand that if people commit the crimes, then why make it easier for them to get the guns?

News flash for you, #ProGunTraffickingCaucus member, if criminals don't follow gun laws, why have any laws at all??!! Why are you even a legislator who writes laws? Go do something else, silly.

This #ProGunTraffickingCaucus member didn't read Biden's plan. It allows entities to use $350 billion in state and local funding for purposes such as....(wait for it) "Hiring law enforcement officials"

Never let the facts get in the way poll-tested BS!

You go get 'em August! Gun dealers who falsify records and sell firearms to prohibited purchasers definitely deserve constitutional protection to keep on breaking the law and putting our lives in danger!!! #ProGunTraffickingCaucus

✅ Stem the flow of crime guns

✅ Support law enforcement with federal tools and resources to help address summer violent crime

✅ Invest in evidence-based community violence interventions

Biden is going after rogue gun dealers who knowingly violate federal law, fudge their records, & sell guns to prohibited purchasers...those guns then end up being used in crime.

This has nothing to do with "lawful gun owners" #ProGunTraffickingCaucus

Biden's plan allows entities to use $350B in funding for "Hiring law enforcement officials"

It maximizes efficacy of law enforcement tasked w/ cracking down on rogue gun dealers violating our laws

But facts don't matter to you #ProGunTraffickingCaucus

1/ A federal judge has overturned CA's three-decade-old ban on assault weapons, calling the law a “failed experiment” & likening military-grade assault weapons to Swiss Army knives.

2/ When CA legislature passed assault weapon ban in 1989, it found that assault weapon “has such a high rate of fire & capacity for firepower that its function as a legitimate sports or recreational firearm is substantially outweighed by the danger that it can be used to kill"
3/ CA legislature came to this conclusion b/c military-style assault weapons are the weapons of choice for drug dealers, criminal gangs, hate groups & individuals bent on mass murder. These weapons efficiently kill as many people as possible in a short period of time ....

This estimate (from actual researchers) is significantly lower than the numbers the gun industry has been throwing around to juice more gun sales...

3.8 M Americans became first-time gun owners in 2020 & made up 23% of all gun buyers last year, up from 17% in 2019.

There were more Black, Hispanic, and female buyers among the first-timers than their prior-gun-owning counterparts.

1/ Conservatives pretend gun violence prevention advocates made up the term "assault weapon" to scare the public, but the truth is the industry described exactly these civilian versions as "assault rifles" & "assault pistols" b/c they saw it as a *selling point*
2/ 1982: Guns&Ammo published a book titled Assault Rifles, advertising "complete data on the best semi-automatics."

1984: Guns&Ammo advertised Assault Firearms "full of the hottest hardware available today....covers the field with...assault rifles from the armies of the world"
3/ 1988: Guns&Ammo's Jan Libourel defined "assault pistol" as: "A high-capacity semi-automatic firearm styled like a submachine gun but having a pistol-length barrel and lacking a buttstock."
