We have a massive spike in violent crime because police officers are afraid to do their jobs. Any "crime prevention" effort that focuses on job training or gun seizures is a giant distraction.
The dumbest argument you hear is that the spike in crime is because of guns. Oh really? Was there an explosion of firearm ownership over the last two years, or did maybe something else happen?
The other garbage talking point is that "defund the police" hasn't led to substantial funding restrictions. See below for dishonest framing from ABC. But the point is that cops are terrified to do their jobs, which makes our cities unsafe.

The spike in crime over the last year has led to more death than "police brutality" over the same period. I just wish people who screwed up would own it. If you actually talk to cops, they are *terrified.*
In Columbus recently, a cop shot someone who was about to stab a girl to death, and that cop was the target of hatred from some of our biggest celebrities and media personalities. Our society attacked him for *saving a life.* This madness has got to stop.
Do you want to live in a high crime shithole? I don't. So let's be honest about what's driving the spike in crime, and stop doing it.
