How a Rocket Launcher, Backpack, and 91 days in Asia Changed My Life Forever

10 Reasons Why You Need To Buy a Plane Ticket and Disappear
At age 19 I was working 84 hour weeks

Making good money but losing my soul

I also had recently lost my mom to a drug overdose

I needed a change

So I bought a backpack and booked a plane ticket to Asia

It was the best decision of my life

Here's why...
1. Deprogram

Society wants to trap you

You go to school to get a job you don't like

So you can buy things you don't need

To impress people that don't care

Stepping off that plane in a foreign land separates you from it all

It gave me perspective on how brainwashed I was
2. Growth

Travelling throws you into discomfort

At first it feels like everything is coming at you 100mph

But over time you learn to adapt

Strangers become friends
Foreign lands become home
Challenges become adventures

Things don't get easier

You just become stronger
3. Humanity

In Cambodia I had a pharmacist stitch up my wounds

In Vietnam I had an old man teach me how to eat phở

In Thailand I had locals tell me what dangerous areas to avoid

Despite what the news says, majority of people in the world are good.
4. Happiness

When you travel alone, you won't always have company

You can't rely on anyone else to entertain you

You learn to enjoy your own company

You enjoy eating by yourself
You enjoy sitting by yourself
You enjoy exploring by yourself

Want to be happy?

Normalize this.
5. Memories

When you're on your death bed

Are you going to remember all the times you played it safe?

Fuck that.

• Start that business
• Ask that girl out at the cafe
• Pay $500 to shoot that RPG

Live a life worth writing about
6. Responsibility

While in Asia I:

• Fell off a roof
• Was lit on fire
• Fell off a scooter
• Almost got gang beat

My dumbass 19 year old self realized my choices can have serious consequences
7. Minimalism

I only brought a backpack with me to Asia

When you have limited space, you learn to take what you need

You emotionally detach from items

I stopped seeing the value in things and started seeing value in experiences

I saw the beauty in minimalism
8. Understanding

You only understand home once you leave it

I used to think we had it so good in Canada

Then I saw how happy people were in Vietnam

No news, no politics, no bullshit

Just rice wine and family

@lawrencekingyo summed it up perfectly

@lawrencekingyo 9. Confidence

I shared drinks with strangers

I bartered with old women

I told weirdos to fuck off

Quickly you become comfortable with

• Saying no
• Making friends
• Asking for what you want

Travelling is the best way to refine you skills because you're forced to interact
@lawrencekingyo 10. Awareness

To become aware of who you are meant to be

You have to detach from who you are expected to be

Detaching from:

• Work
• Family
• Routine

Allows you to assess your life in an unbiased way

No book can teach you this

This is Charlie Munger’s favorite book.

“You will never make a better investment."

Naval Ravikant, Harvard, Stanford, and Forbes all consider it one of the best business books ever written.

Here are 6 principles from "Influence" that shape every decision you make: Image
Robert Cialdini spent 3 years undercover studying persuasion to write this book.

"Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" is considered the bible of persuasion, influence, & marketing.

The book explains the powerful psychology of why people say "yes" & how to persuade anyone:
1. Reciprocity: Give first, receive later

Humans are wired to return favors.

If you give something first, whether it’s free advice or a gift—people feel compelled to give back.

I went from 0 to 270k+ followers on 𝕏 in under 3 years.

All because of 1 thing:

The GAP Framework.

Here's exactly how it works: Image
The GAP Framework follows 3 content types:

1. Growth content
2. Authority content
3. Personal content

I’ll break it down (with a real-life example):
1. Growth Content

This is content like trends, worldwide events, and well-known figures.

My client, Farouk tried this and gained 1,000+ followers from 1 post:

1. He analyzed 115 posts from a well-known figure.
2. Turned the data into insights.
3. Went viral.

2018: 84-hour weeks as an electrician.
2020: Minimum wage at Dominos.
2022: $47K month business while traveling the world.

If you want to learn the best 'freedom' business to start in 2025, read this: Image
Most fail at business for 1 reason:

0 interest in the work.
0 interest = 0 motivation.
0 motivation = 0 results.

Then you chase the next shiny object.

But the biz I'm talking about is fun + in high demand.

It's why my beginner clients have gotten results like this: Image
1. Ghostwriting (WTF Is It?)

Just like Drake uses ghostwriters for songs...

People like:

• Donald Trump
• Tony Robbins
• Gary V

Pay ghostwriters to write speeches, emails, and books in their name.

But this post is about a special type.

(that's gotten results like this). Image

Mainstream media is dead.

Even Matthew McConaughey knows it.

That's why he's hitting every podcast there is to promote his new book.

Here’s what this means for the future of attention (and how you can profit from it): Image
The game has changed.

10 years ago? You needed mainstream media to reach millions of people.

Now? The barriers are gone.

Anyone with an iPhone and an internet connection can build a bigger audience than CNN.
Think about it:

• McConaughey could be on any TV network
• He's been in the biggest movies ever
• He's already worth over $160m

But he's choosing creators over traditional media.

I went from 0 to 250,000 followers on 𝕏

It took me less than 3 years.

Here's my simple 5-step blueprint to go from 0 to 10k on 𝕏 in 2025: Image
First, the numbers don't lie:

• Monthly active users did a 2x in the last year
• Creator payouts are increasing every day
• Engagement is at all-time highs

Now for the blueprint:
1. Content Strategy

Use the GAP Framework:

Growth content (trending topics)
Authority content (solve problems)
Personal content (share your story)

This creates the perfect mix of reach and retention.

2020: Delivering pizzas for $12/hour
2021: Got 1st copywriting client for $150
2022: Landing $3K-$7K/month ghostwriting clients

My simple business strategy (free blueprint):
Step 1: Pick a Skill

To get paid, you need to be useful.

The best way is to pick a skill:

1. That solves a painful problem.
2. That have an interest in.

Bigger problem = Bigger paycheck.
My strategy:

• Chose writing (because I liked it + high demand)
• Created content that was useful + had personality

Here's a simple cheat sheet I made on this:
