Contrary to what many believe, the problem with mid-wits isn't their intellect. They're smart enough to succeed in any career or business.

They lack two important traits:
1. The ability to source and parse good information from bad
2. The willingness to go against the grain
The primary challenges of the Information Age are sourcing useful information and determining the validity and utility of that information.

If your information inputs are poor and you never realize it, it's all garbage in, garbage out.
Generally, if you find almost all media, entertainment, and pop culture to be uninteresting and/or annoying, you're headed in the right direction.

Also, stop following the news while we're on the subject. It's not useful and it doesn't matter.
What really stands out to me with regard to media lately is how loud and in your face everything is. It seems like everyone is mainlining caffeine.

Never forget you can control the volume and pace of many things, especially negotiation.
One of my favorite things to do on client calls is to slow things way down. Often you'll get some jittery salesman or executive on the other end who wants to speedrun the entire negotiation. When you control the tempo, you control the orchestra.

When I got my first real job, I had the choice of moving downtown and spending all my income on rent or living with my parents and commuting for over 4 hours per day.

I chose the latter, did the commute for nearly 2 years, and went all-in on crypto. This was over 5 years ago.
In retrospect, this was the best financial decision I've ever made. But it was horrible at the time and you can definitely see the effects of it in my old writing.

Every time a civilization starts experimenting with contacting “the Universe” through hallucinogens, rituals, etc. it always ends in mass human sacrifice to the same entities they made contact with.
Imagine some self-styled “guru” pothead ripping out a baby’s heart in the name of Peace Love Unity Respect and you’ll have a good idea of the trajectory we’re on.
It wasn’t long after the Mayans found “dude machine elves lmao vines” in the jungle that they started chopping people up

The New Religion of the era is materializing, spoken of openly on the sliver tongues of gurus and soothesayers.

Humanity’s forthcoming enlightenment will in fact be a turning away from the Light towards the darkness of the material universe.
Men no longer seek to submit to divine authority, but instead to fashion themselves into tiny gods to rule over their own tiny kingdoms.

The New Religion that promises him wealth and ownership in this life will appeal to he who will soon be without wealth and authority.
We have an upcoming financial crash in the early 2020s, and then “the big one” near the end of the decade.

Presuming AI and automation are sufficient enough by then, those jobs will be gone and there are going to be a lot of very poor people.
