A very BLESSED morning to you.

"Living on Lori Iro"

Was studying a few verses in the book of 1Sam. Chapter 4, and I am struck by a few occurrences which are still common in today's world, even as we continually live on self denial. The Lori Iro kind of thing. Nothing thrives
when we live in self denial. There is no fresh start without doing the needful.

Let's take a look at;
1 Samuel 4:2 MSG
The Philistines marched out to meet Israel, the fighting spread, and Israel was badly beaten - about 4,000 soldiers left dead on the field.
1 Samuel 4:3 When
the troops returned to camp, Israel's elders said, "Why has God given us such a beating today by the Philistines? Let's go to Shiloh and get the Chest of God's Covenant. It will accompany us and save us from the grip of our enemies."

The catch here for me is this;

The elders
were quick to blame God for the overwhelming defeat and shame at the hands of the "godless" philistines, and as if that was not enough, they tried to "USE" God, like, He, God, was in their pockets, ready to be used at all times and for whatever purpose. It did not matter if God
was "busy, asleep, playing etc-(just used those catch phrases literally. We know God cannot be caught in any of those)

The point here is that, defeat started for them early, even before the battle.

God had expressed His anger against the prophet over israel (Eli) and his 2
sons, Hophni & Phinehas, They were God's mouthpiece to the nation and at this time, the relationship between them and God, had been breached. It had not been mended and this could not be ignored or swept under the carpet.

Everyone ignored the ripple effect of this severed
relationship on the nation.
Secondly, the very people God was angry with, Hophni & Phinehas, who probably held strategic positions in the army, advanced to battle with the rest of the army...no nau, God sees and knows all things, for crying out loud.
Those days, it was like, one bad apple ruined everything.

With Achan's sin in the "camp" Israel lost against a very tiny nation called AI.

In like manner, a disobedient Jonah in the boat almost caused a catastrophic fatality on a boat trip.
You see, with God, nothing is swept under the carpet like it never existed or happened. Issues must be dealt with.

There will be no progress until underlining issues are addressed. Yes, God is quick and open to forgiveness, but, this will not happen until we, like the prodigal
son in Luke 15, "come to ourselves" repent and ask for forgiveness.

Those days, the sin of just one man or woman in the "camp" pulled down the entire nation.

David sinned and the entire nation suffered for it in;
1 Chronicles 21:1 MSG
Now Satan entered the scene and seduced
David into taking a census of Israel.
1 Chronicles 21:3
Joab resisted: "May God multiply his people by hundreds! Don't they all belong to my master the king? But why on earth would you do a thing like this - why risk getting Israel into trouble with God?"
1 Chronicles 21:4
But David wouldn't take no for an answer, so Joab went off and did it - canvassed the country & then came back to Jerusalem
1 Chronicles 21:7 And God, offended by the whole thing, punished Israel.
1 Chronicles 21:14 So God unleashed an epidemic in Israel - 70,000 Israelites died
Did you see that in V7 & 14? an entire nation suffered monumentally.

These days, things are a lot different, but, one wrong step by the husband or wife in the home, will most definitely affect everyone.
One wrong step or misguided policy decision can make a community, state or
nation "go 20 years back"

We cannot continually be in the wrong, move on and expect things to workout the way we want.

GOD cannot be used. He is not our servant and for crying out loud, He is the Almighty, the Incomprehensible, the unfathomable, the fathomless, the
unintelligible, the inscrutable, unexplainable, Bis ways past finding out, He is ineffable and very honorable too.

There are principles that govern our relationship with God.
We can't continue to "do anyhow" and expect grace to abound. If we continue,
we will then be living on what I call, Lori Iro...

Was Studying about the prophet Eli this morning and I had a few "What if" kind of scenerio on my mind. (My usual practice when studying. I try to paint a scenero, asking myself what I would have done if I was the one)

When Eli and his son's did what God considered evil, He (God)
decided to reign judgement upon them.

1 Samuel 3:14 MSG
This is my sentence on the family of Eli: The evil of Eli's family can never be wiped out by sacrifice or offering."😱😱
1 Samuel 3:18
So Samuel told him, word for word. He held back nothing. Eli said, "He is God. Let him
do whatever He thinks best."

It's like telling your boss or the authority over you to do what he or she thinks best, even, after it had been established that you goofed big time. (Trust me, that is a very poor response)

Concerning Eli's family, they had really goofed and no one

Studying the Word this morning, and these thoughts would just not leave..

You know...there are stuffs God does and it will make one would look dumbfounded. They are not just mind-blowing, they are inconceivable. When you experience such, trust me, there are no English words to
describe them.

Two women come to mind.
The first was Hannah, and the second, Mary, mother of Jesus.

Hannah exclaimed;
1 Samuel 2:1 MSG
Hannah prayed: I'm bursting with God-news! I'm walking on air. I'm laughing at my rivals. I'm dancing my salvation.

Her rival had completely
written her off.
She wasn't going to "make" it, they said, but, God did it anyways.

Mary too said the same thing;
Luke 1:46 MSG
And Mary said, I'm bursting with God-news;

These two women were just awe-struck. They could not find words to describe what just happened. They dint

What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month.

👉🏼She was given a name because of her challenges. Image
👉🏼She did not conceive at a time everyone expected her to.
👇🏼
She did not meet people's expectations as it were, hence, she was written off as barren, unfruitful...her case was closed, but, then, God stepped in.

*Psalms 77:14 NIV*
You are the God who performs miracles; you
display your power among the peoples.

And God stepped in;✔️
And God once again displayed His power.✔️.

*And then* ;
👉🏼Elizabeth's Barren status changed.
👉🏼Her name changed.
👉🏼People's perception of her changed automatically

There is going to be a display of God's power

Today is International Widows Day.

"Often left without savings or any other income support, widows have been especially exposed to the sudden loss of employment during the pandemic, creating immediate and acute financial vulnerability, with serious consequences that range from
food insecurity to increased susceptibility to human trafficking,"

Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women said on International Widows Day. The day is aimed at showing solidarity with women who have lost their partners. In a bid to empower women & safeguard the
rights of widows, the UN General Assembly, on December 21, 2010, adopted a resolution and declared June 23 as International Widows Day.
Theme of 2021 International Widows Day: Invisible Women, Invisible Problems

Have you done your 5min Prayer for NIGERIA today?

If not, read this;

Jeremiah 29:7 MSG
"Make yourselves at home there and work for the country's welfare. "Pray for Babylon's well-being. If things go well for Babylon, things will go well for you."

This was a message to the Image
children of Israel when they were enslaved in Babylon. It wasn't a palatable situation for them there at all.

Their conquerors made life miserable to say the least, yet, and in all of these, God instructed them to pray for Babylon saying, "...Pray for Babylon's well-being. If
things go well for Babylon, things will go well for you."

Yes, stop cursing NIGERIA inspite of the greed, wickedness, Ineptitude etc of our politicians, inspite of the misery being perpetuated because, of Government's ineptitude, cluelessness and conspiracy.

This 🦅 will fly

Whispering Enemies, the Bible calls them in Hebs 1v13b TPT

"Take your seat next to me at my right hand until I force your whispering enemies to be a rug under your feet.”

These are some of d most potentially hurtful people.

They whisper everytime you record any accomplishment.
They make a mockery of everything God does for you and try to water it down.

They believe, it shouldn't have been you.
They believe, it should have been them.

They abound in the workplace, Family circle, neighbourhood. Infact, they are everywhere.

They are not bold enough to
congratulate you when others are doing so. They are mortally pained and wounded because, God chose you above them
(Hebrew 1v 9 TPT -
For this reason, God, your God, has anointed you and poured out the oil of bliss on you
more than on any of your friends.”)
