Today, Harmony’s mainnet turns 2 years old.

We've been running and growing non-stop for 59+ million blocks and 26+ million transactions.

Our team reflects on the journey and looks toward a bright future.

1/ Our team came together over weekly gatherings to share ideas on technologies that could impact billions of people.

We felt compelled to build a blockchain that could support mass adoption and the full promise of decentralization.

That was Harmony.

2/ We kept building during the long “crypto winter”, staying hungry and foolish.

🚀 With the support of our 152 foundational nodes, our team worked every day to launch our mainnet with sharding and proof of stake in June 2019.

3/ We continue to strengthen our platform, with 2-second finality, while building full compatibility with bridges to Ethereum and soon Bitcoin and more.

Our growth as a project has been immense, but our transformation as individuals has been even greater

4/ What’s on the horizon?

We aim to support 10,000+ developers through hackathons @gitcoin.

Specifically, we’ll onboard new developers coming into web3 enter via our bridges and cross-chain API. We empower anyone to build on ONE, and run on all chains.

5/ We’ll help kickstart community-owned decentralized autonomous organizations.

These DAOs will manage up to $1 million ONEs each. Their elected governors will push forward mandates to grow Harmony development, marketing, and societal impact.
