What is NOT self-love

1.Eating Junk Food & Loading Up On Sugar

Often when you feel low, you want to treat yourself to fast, junk food or load up on sweets.

It may make you feel good temporarily, but will eventually end up making you feel worse than before.
So, if you truly want to show love to yourself, eat piping hot, home-cooked food.

A Healthy Diet = A Happy You.
2.Staying Up Late Binge-Watching Shows

Sleep may elude you when you’re not in the best phase of your life.

But, instead of keeping up with a healthy sleep routine, if you give yourself more reasons to stay up late; you will hamper your well-being.
Don’t binge watch Netflix to escape your emotions, rather accept and process your emotions. It may make you feel miserable at the moment, but it will heal you.

But, if you try to ignore it, you will hurt your future self. And you don’t want that.
3.Self-Pity

Feeling sorry for yourself is not self-love. Self-love means taking care of yourself and trying to make yourself feel better.

On the other hand, self-pity keeps you where you are and makes sure your future is no different from your past.
4.Feeling Entitled

Don’t confuse your self-worth with entitlement. You deserve everything, but remember, no one owes you anything.

Get what you need on your own terms and not by placing ridiculous expectations on others.
5. Selfishness

Wanting everything for yourself is being selfish.

Self-love means to take care of your needs, but not at the expense of others.
In fact, with self-love, you become more empathetic towards others’ needs.

By falling in love with who you are, you develop a sense of general affection towards others as well.

Remember, it's better to complement each other than to complete each other.
2) Love means happiness.

Your partner can make you immensely happy. Yes.

But remember, your happiness is in your own hands.

Be so blissful in your heart that you share your happiness with him/her and not extract it from them.

Here is a quick step-by-step guide on how you can grow up after growing up!
1. Name Your Emotion

First, identify your emotion, because if you don’t, you won’t be able to work on it.

So, name your emotion – what is it that you’re feeling in the moment – is it a feeling of happiness, sadness, hurt, grief, anger, hope?

What is it?
2. Pause

The best way to not react is to pause. Whenever you feel a surge of emotions, pause.

Don’t say anything to anyone. Simply, pause.

This may be tricky at start, but once you practice, it will become second nature to you.
