What conservatives think Marx's writing is like: "I hate rich people. Incompetent people should make just as much money as competent people. Why? It feels right."
What Marx's writing is actually like: "in the next 200 pages I will discuss the various prices of linen vs yarn."
Fun fact, in Das Kapital Marx mentions the bourgeoisie only 37 times, but he mentions linen 268 times.
Also, he mentions "facts" 53 times, but only mentions "feelings" 5 times, curious...

If you want to make sense of the current political moment, and why electoral politics under capitalism can never, and will never, serve anyone but the wealthy capitalists, look no further than the most influential political theorist of the 20th century: Vladimir Lenin.
A thread.
If you are like me, you did not read Lenin in High School. You did not read him in college. You have never seen his ideas debated on TV. No politician has ever claimed to be inspired by him, or even mentioned his name.
Strange, for someone so influential across the globe.

- your boss will use this as an excuse to cut your salary.
- your landlord will use this as an excuse to raise your rent.
- your congressmen will use this as an excuse to slash benefits and lower minimum wage.
It isn't a coincidence that billionaires love this plan. Workers will still have to work for them in order to live, and pay their landlords for shelter. Property values will go up. Business costs will go down. Workers will not be empowered.
The plan will cost three trillion, almost the entire federal budget, including social security and medicare. Every benefit that aids the poor will have to go, or your taxes will have to double. The poorest people who need the most help will end up worse off.
This is not about those countries having legal immigrants only. Pew Research estimates unauthorized immigrants (in millions):
Central American: 1.6
Asia: 1.5
South American: 0.6
Europe/Canada: 0.5
Asia and Europe have similar numbers, but are virtually ignored by ICE. Why? Race.
