#CZE vs #DEN line up against each other in the third quarter final of #EURO2020.
This thread contains a preview of the match by highlighting key stats and styles from both teams. I have been working on it with my friend @C_Roensholt from Denmark.
🧵👇 (1/13) #vizzes Image
#DEN has 2nd most shots (75) of all teams at EUROs. They have shown high danger from distance with 3 of 9 goals from outside the box.
Schick's wonder goal is #CZE only goal outside the box and Schick (12) and Souček (8) has 50% of all Czech Republic shots.

#DEN leads most positional attacks through the left side, however, they are the most dangerous through the middle.
#CZE (Coufal😆) is the most threatening through the right side.
(3/13) ImageImage
It is pretty obvious that #DEN wants to play their crosses to the penalty spot. #DEN has shown high precision (41.8%) in their crossing.
#CZE has an accuracy of 18.3%, but the presence of Schick and especially Souček is something Denmark has to be aware of.

Starting points of all passes that lead to a shot in the following 5 actions.
As mentioned, #CZE most often threatens from the right, while #DEN through the left side.
(5/13) Image
#CZE most often passes forward to the right. It's obvious from all the vizzes how much #CZE wants to overload the the right flank.
#DEN has much more varied distribution of their passes than #CZE. In Att-play, #DEN often plays the furthers forward vertical passes possible.

Here is a great picture about #DEN verticality in their attacking play. https://t.co/tu1AeeieEM
#DEN is the team of the last 16 who progress the ball the fastest upfield.
The integral to #DEN ball progression comes from the left where Mæhle's ability to progress the ball at his feet or finding Damsgaard or #DEN number 9 has provided great in the both GS and R of 16.

📲 #CZE passing nets & trends have been already described on my profile. #vizzes
#CZE tends to switch the play to the left flank (~60%) and mostly in their own half. After the buildup-play, #CZE tends to play more through the flanks.
#DEN tends to switch the play in the middle of the field or through the goalkeeper.
(11/13) Image
#CZE has throughout the EUROs played with a lower line than #DEN, with most (42%) of their defensive actions coming in the def. third.
Coufal (15) has the most interceptions of all players at EURO 2020, whereas Pierre-Emile Højberg (7) is leading for #DEN.
(12/13) Image
The lower defensive line of #CZE is also present when looking at where teams pressure their opponent compared to the teams at the #EURO2020.
