Unpopular opinion... Bak, you all know that I adore #iskenderkayabeyli... But I honestly believe it was a plan all along for him to be the culprit. I believe Burcu had enough opportunities to exculpate him if she wanted... But she didn't. I'll probably do a thread about this... Image
Exhibit A: Iskender's behavior when Tomris says, how does it feel to play with my grandson knowing you killed his mother.
He is turned with his back. He swallows deeply, closes his eyes... And only then he turns around and counter-attacks her. With: Peki... But what about you?
This is remorse... This is regret... This is guilt, so wonderfully portrayed by our darling #berkergüven. Iskender is a human. A human who made a horrible mistake. He never denied he had something to do with it. He always said it was an accident. And in his mind, it was.
Exhibit B: In episode 23, Ruya comes to Isko's cell to tell him she withdrew the complaint against him... Look at his agreeing nod when she says, I will live for the day you and your brother will pay for all your crimes. Sorrow and acceptance that the day of reckoning will come.
Here is him reflecting on her words all by himself. He is feeling the heaviness of that burden. He feels the walls are closing in on him. She came here to tell him they will set him free... But he is anything but free. A prisoner of his own guilt.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance, as my friend @emenai2 had noticed, were feelings following us (and Isko) through the discovery that our Isko is actually the one responsible for the fire. Most of us got stuck on 2nd one. In the end, I accepted it, like Isko.
I will write my feelings regarding the matter and how I got to the 5th one. At first, I denied his involvement in the matter. Then, I felt anger mixed with denial throughout the 3rd to 12th ep... I believed he was used by Kenan. Sadly, subsequent episodes dispersed such notions.
Then I started bargaining and blame it all on Celebi (thinking maybe C actually did it, to keep Iskender in check), or that Isko is covering for someone (his mother), or anything but the simple fact which he himself has stated, and I kept believing that, until the 25th episode...
