The government has given up pretending it’s following the science. Today’s announcements are pure ideology. The decision to remove all mitigations even while cases are increasing exponentially is inexplicable. The only way it makes sense is if you believe masks inhibit ‘freedom’
Last week, we suggested govt was following herd immunity strategy. This week, it removed last shreds of doubt.

It’s a HUGE gamble with the health of millions of unvaccinated children. Yet, it’s not being talked about. It’s not in the headlines. Labour is silent. How is this ok??
Where do you even begin with this?

The freedom to contract Long Covid. The freedom to suffer unknown & unspecificed neurological consequences. The freedom to incubate the next (vaccine resistant?) variant.
Right. Enough. I'm off out. I've tried. Nobody wants to hear it but we're in the shit again.

I really hope @SadiqKhan is immune from ridiculous ideological rhetoric around masks. The idea that ‘personal responsibility’ is going to ensure mask usage is something only an Old Etonian who never uses the Tube could dream up. Has he ever met the British public?
The plan, to be clear, is that your children catch Covid now because Johnson thinks it’s less disruptive than in autumn…

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Health is the deliberate mass infection of an entire nation’s children with a novel & mutating virus with unknown long term consequences
This man is an active danger to public health.
It is likely we will be at almost 100k cases/day when Sajid Javid will remove the mandate on masks.

In all the time that @allthecitizens has been broadcasting @IndependentSage’s weekly briefings, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the scientists express such utter disbelief

These are 2 clips from @chrischirp’s presentation of the data. We are looking at 90k cases a day by July 19. Look at these charts. We’ve never seen infection on this scale. This is massive population-wide experiment of a type that no other country in the world is contemplating
I highly recommend watching whole briefing. This populist govt that has made mistakes time & time again. Labour Party is missing in action. And cohort of scientists who sounded alarm from start believe it’s unethical unnecessary profoundly hazardous gamble

It is testimony to the seriousness of what’s at stake that it drew a cross-party MPs & Lords of this calibre, a legal team of this brilliance & the support of 2k+ members of British public.

To understand the nature of the challenge & the lack of precedent, the judge, Mr Justice Swift queried whether there was any difference between the actions of a hostile foreign state & a radio shock jock. Well yes, m’lud, unless TalkRadio decides to get into the Novichok business Image
At the heart of this case was an interpretation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights: the right to a free & fair election. But the judge blocked this from even being heard. Our counsel believe that he has erred in law.
