Problem is - being forced to send your products half way round the world in order to survive and still being 40 % down isn’t actually much of a bonus . Those markets could have been sourced before we left .
As for stagetruck .. they’re off to Europe in order to survive .
The vegan bars / sending them in containers isn’t exactly cost effective
Not many brexit benefits is there
And don’t forget - all the crew / back line / the merchandise industry - they’ll all go with the likes of stagetruck. Labour and merch will be sourced in mainland Europe . Not here
Brexit benefits . For virtually any company wishing to send goods 22 miles over the channel .

Back before brexit I was asked to drive a van load of art to Belgium .
Long story short , with the border closed and bust on other work - the job never went .
Anyway !
Beginning of jan it was attempted to get the gear over , but there was an issue 1.
with the vat - and this stuff wasn’t cheap , as customer already paid the vat on the U.K.
After one month !! - it was decided goods could travel on a T2 to Belgium
Last week T2 issued , and driver went to collect papers . Was told there was an X on the MRN and sent to 2.
ebbsfleet ( from Ashford )
Once there he was asked what he was doing there - and he shouldn’t be there .. and asked to leave . But he couldn’t leave as it is a customs bonded facility . So 5 hours later he was allowed to leave

Ive just read a post from a massive , and I mean massive pro brexit supporting haulier whose recently spent hours and hours in cairnryan port because of his ignorance to just turn up at the port and expect to sail to NI with no paperwork. Seriously 😳
I’m itching to share it but it would be unfair . I’m not really into naming and shaming .
Here we go . Feel free to have a look and a laugh . Because of his ignorance ( he knew what he was voting for ) the production line had to stop . “ Who knew you had to have customs paper work “
316 trucks have passed through the customs checkpoint since it became operational, with each check taking just a few minutes to process. Unfortunately, things at Ashford aren't quite as smooth though; some drivers had to wait hours to get paperwork cleared trans.info/en/lorry-park-…
Let me get this right : 316 trucks over fifteen days is an average of 21 trucks a day !! That’s not many exports leaving Portsmouth .....
Portsmouth - Santander only two ferries a week ......
THE best way to avoid visible queues of trucks that end up on the news and in the papers
Ashford and ebbsfleet are two such examples
And as for inland clearance in the EU .. there will be trucks and vans everywhere stuck waiting to clear their loads
To export : you need an uk agent and an event in your destination country .. paperwork uk is sent to agent first then driver must go and collect from a designated collection point ( ashford for instance we’ve seen the queues there )
Once the papers are issued driver flies down to the ferry / train - don’t forget that you can’t now go unless you have a port pass . The days of turning up and leaving are gone . So there’s little or no delays at present . As traffic increases expect trucks to be held at Ashford
• Testing at Manston Airport has been slow but the process is building up, Vehicles have been (slowly) leaving the site to head to the port but this will be a long process.
• The A20 through the Town is still blocked (access to the port from Jubilee Way only at the moment – Normally as part of Escort).
• French Fire Brigade arrived this morning with More testing kits an are working through Vehicles on the A20 to allow Negative tests to travel to the Port.
• Testing continues on the M20, Testers are making their way from Vehicle to Vehicle.
