Today we have been working through all the information and views that was shared with us during our "Co-design a human rights support solution" workshop last week.
Here is some of the things that we have learned.🧵⬇️
This workshop was open to community and voluntary sector groups across the UK. 61 people registered for the workshop.
Groups and organisations from all 4 nations of the UK attended. This map shows the percentage of workshop attendees across the nations.
A wide variety of different sectors and areas of work were represented by the workshop attendees:
The variety of different groups and organisations all in one room to discuss human rights was amazing!
We loved hearing what these groups currently do well. Here is just a tiny taster:
We asked the groups and organisations to tell us how they currently use human rights. They told us:
We also asked if they currently receive human rights support:
We wanted to know some of the barriers that groups and organisations face when using human rights. Here are just a few barriers that they face internally:
We also asked about the external barriers they faced when using human rights. Again just a few:
The group already came up with some fantastic solutions for tackling some of these issues and barriers:
Everyone attending the workshop scored 5/5 to the question "Out of 5, how important would being able to access free human rights support be for your organisation and the people/issue you support?"
We are going to be working over the coming months to put some of these ideas into action. Working together with partner groups and organisations. 🧠
🙌We want to again thank everyone who joined the workshop last week it was fantastic to have so many wonderful people together to discuss human rights.
👀Keep an eye out for more updates and information on this project in the coming weeks and months! (/ends)
