The College is seeking to appoint two exceptional Early Career researchers who will be awarded an independent four-year Fellowship within the MRC CMM at the University of Exeter.
This Fellowship is aimed at newly qualified postdoctoral researchers with the aim of attracting exceptional individuals to develop an early independent research career in medical mycology.
The Fellowship covers salary and comes with a generous consumable budget (up to £20k per annum).

One of the two posts will focus specifically on Bioinformatics, complementing that of Dr. Rhys Farrer’s team
(biosciences.exeter.ac.uk/staff/profile/…), and we are looking for an individual with an interest in exploiting ‘omics’ approaches to address the host or the host-pathogen interface.
The successful applicants will be expected to develop their own independent research programme in collaboration with our MRC CMM PIs (exeter.ac.uk/medicalmycolog…); write up their work for publication; identify sources of
research funding; present their work at conferences; and contribute to the activities of the Centre (e.g. research, outreach and teaching). The primary role will be to execute their own project successfully and publish the resultant outputs,
with the ultimate aim of applying for a subsequent personal independent fellowship.

How to find good references

Copyright-University of Calgary

Graduate school programs typically require two or three references as part of your application package. Some course-based professional programs will require one academic reference and one professional reference.
Each program sets its own criteria for reference letters, so be sure to check its requirements.

It is important to identify these potential references at least one month in advance of applying to graduate programs.
Types of referees
Academic references should be permanent professors on the university’s faculty.
Professional references are individuals you worked with (such as a former employer) who can write positively on your relevant work experience.
